I'm intrigued by the reference to "magic and mayhem" which sounds like they may have had one of the earier fantasy scripts. Of course, for a blurb this size they may have just phoned in a two minute interview and who knows who gave them what info from where. Great find, anyway.

Finding a Koopa action figure at a local comic store made me revisit this film, and I found I had been disliking it based on other peoples perceptions and not giving it a fair chance. Now it's one of my favorites.
