Re: This place is the Bob-omb
Can't remember off hand, but I'm pretty sure I've seen more people leave  And your username is a SUPER good choice too - as it is a King Koopa quote, did you choose it out of respect for Dennis Hopper? A little bit; I'm certainly a Hopper fan, but mostly it's because the line at the end of the...

Re: This place is the Bob-omb
I was staying at a hotel when I saw it. I remember from one of the windows of the hotel there was an animated billboard, and an advert for the movie would flash up every so often. It's interesting you say the movie is believed to have been better received outside the US, as come to think of it I can...

This place is the Bob-omb
Hey all, I've been a defender of the Super Mario Bros. film since I saw it in a Cardiff cinema in 1993 when I was 6. I chose it over Jurassic Park ; I didn't regret it then, and I don't regret it now. After revisiting and thoroughly enjoying the film on DVD the other day, I wondered if there were an...

From Microchips to Moviestars and Mario Books
I wasn't sure which section to put this in, but because it's kind of more about Mario in general than the movie in particular I thought I'd put it here. I just ordered From Microchips to Moviestars , which a lot of you will know is about the making of the 1993 movie (within PR limits!) My question i...

Re: Would the SMB games work with a serious tone?
Current Mario games are a shining beacon in an industry now dominated by excessive machismo and explicit violence. I also disagree with the over-emphasis a lot of people have on "darkness" in entertainment these days. Dark is fine, but its not a quality in and of itself, and not everything...

Re: The debate of Mario's voice
Walker Boone "is" Mario's voice to me. Hoskins was great, but obviously detatched from the video game character. I don't mind Martinet. Don't care for Captain Lou Albano's voicework.

Re: Super Mario Bros. The Movie: The End of an Era?
Personally I kind of miss their Brooklyn roots. I think if they made a movie now they would still be from Brooklyn; that silly Italian dialect is cute in the games but it would be too much for a major movie

Help With "Fantasy" Script
Hello, first of all I'd like to thank all of your who made this site for creating a wonderful and exhaustive site dedicated to a movie I enjoyed very much on the big screen back in 93 and enjoyed just as much on DVD the other day (and those aren't the only times I've watched it either). I was wonder...
