Re: Would the SMB games work with a serious tone?
I don't see why Nintendo doesn't make a story driven Mainstreem Mario title that isn't an RPG. watering down the story for Galaxy 2 wasn't bad but still. I hate to say it but someday Mario Games will get stale. I'm all for a dark serious Mario Game.

Marioblaster, I'm curious, what materials did you use to make the Plant, Moto-Bug and the [:?:] Block? As a fellow prop maker myself perhaps you can share your tips for the trade.

Re: Waluigi Discussion
He's not that bad. Yes he is. Yes, he is. Waluigi should be put in a noose, which the other end of is tied to the back of a Mario Kart and we have a good old fashioned bad character drag. I want his blood to stain the courses from World 1-1 to World 8-4 so that all the inhabitants of the Mushroom K...

Re: Mega Man (Fan-Film)
When I first saw it, I thought it was amazing, however after numerous viewings it got a bit stale. I never really got all the damn cussing in the film and some of the dialog sucked a bit. It was also surprisingly long, especially for a fan film. I only felt the need to watch it once, I think with t...

Mega Man (Fan-Film)
Has anyone seen the Mega Man fan film by Eddie Lebron? I thought it was pretty decent for an Indy Film and a Solid Videogame adaptation. It's not the greatest but I wanted to know what your thoughts are on it.

Re: Waluigi Discussion
Waluigi didn't ruin anything. He's just an extra character to bring balance to the Wario character and give Luigi a rival. Unnecessary? Maybe. But he's something new for people who got sick of playing as Mario and the Mario Party ratpack. He's not that bad.

Cool, now how long is the film entirely. 60 minutes? Or is it 90-100 minutes?
I estimate roughly it should be 75 to 85 Minutes.

You should have Anthony Scapelli make a cameo in this, maybe as a caveman looking guy. What you have highlighted as 'dark,' are simple action plot points that could be in any cheery movie. I dwell in the darkness, I walk in the shadows, I know dark and this script is not dark. That being said, you are comparing two different stories. This Fantasy script is the only different story fr...

Not to mention it's more like a darker version of the Mario Cartoons. The 7/17/91 script is in no sense of the word 'dark.' I'm sorry, but that's where I draw the line. It's a conservatively written children's film, no darkness added. :| Bowser's joke, "was it something I said?" after the...

Re: Would the SMB games work with a serious tone?
I don't think costume-choice is really an issue when it comes to how "serious" or "dark" the series can be. Super Paper Mario was perhaps the darkest game in the entire series in terms of theme, but it was also the most self-aware and parodic. Mario is just a versatile genre-bre...

ah but I already covered this, Mario has comics and Super Man also has video games. Super Mario Sunshine had a serious tone...sort of. It's also the first Mario game to feature lots of cut-scenes with dialogue and voice acting rather than the gibberish they used in the Galaxy game.
