No, for the love of-- he's got a cape, he can fly, he shoots fire from his bare hands and for being an obese plumber in his mid-thirties he can perform incredible acrobatics with minimal of effort. He's a superhero! I think Mario is chubby not obeese. Fat is fat, anyway you slice it. Believe me, I ...

Does anyone else find it a little disconcerting that Mario's cousin Stanley isn't mentioned in many games? Also, Stanley is blonde, Mario has dark brown hair, so I'm starting to think he might be a distant cousin.

Rodney Dangerfield was way too old, even in 1993. Also, I think John Belushi would have fit in with the cynical type they portrayed Mario to be in the Bennett/Runte 2/19/92 draft.

Maybe a twenty year old Jim Varney as Luigi, but Jim Varney circa 1993? No, there's not a snowball's chance in Hell of that working in any reality. However, had he lived, John Belushi would have made an excellent Mario. He was a short, hairy, chubby guy with an attitude-- Mario! Now, Tom H...

Stanley the Bugman
We all know that Mario and Luigi are brothers, and that Wario is their rival. But how many of you know of Stanley the Bugman? Stanley is Mario's cousin, and he's an exterminator from one of the early Game and Watch games. He only appeared in a few Game and Watch games and in an early variant of &quo...

I also would have given Fat Cat Franklin (As I will refer to Wario in this thread from now on.) a thick Egyptian-style goatee and bushy sideburns and a mullet instead of a similar mustache to Mario, and dressed him in jeans, a t-shirt with a frowny face and suspenders instead of overalls, no hat and...

I like Wario just fine, I just don't care all that much for his name. This sporadic "W" for "M" stuff baffles me, but in the 90s, it made sense back then. If I had named the character I would have dubbed him with one of the following names... Marky the Miser Greedy Greg Gold-Coin...

Exactly what you said. Sweet and cute, though still not the most stimulating work. Most of the Mountain Goats music is actually very hateful, so this was a different take for them. This is about as light-hearted as they get, I think. Imagine all of their other music being angry songs like Bob Dylan...

This is a song I thought everyone might enjoy. It's by a band called The Mountain Goats, and it's written from the perspective of Toad in the original "Super Mario Bros." game. JnbYyTlz1Tw It's weird, but it's actually kind of touching and really sort of sweet. My favorite part is when he ...

I have to be honest though, the brooding cyberpunk feel of the film (Whether fully realized/successful or not) is the very thing that makes this film stand out so completely from all other video game to film adaptions. It is unique. If this script had been made instead, it would automatically lose ...
