Hey i just realized something guys..... Birdo from SMB2 is in the movie! She's that chick with the egg "Get away from my baby!" Hell she even has the bow in her hair like Birdo. http://wwww.boomansion.net/media/wallpapers/mss/birdo_1280x960.jpg Good catch. I don't think she even got a cre...

Re: Where were the Brooklyn scenes filmed?

I think for a few scenes they shot live-action "plates" of NY landmarks like the bridge and then put them in the backgrounds of scenes like the dig site. So in other words they cut and pasted bits and pieces here and there to make it look like New York. That must have been a pain, nowaday...

Re: Where were the Brooklyn scenes filmed?

That's incredible, because I've been to New York and I'd swear they filmed the scenes where they're on the streets there. Downtown Wilmington must be a fairly dense urbanized area. I mean there's even a scene where the Mario Bros' van drives by the Brooklyn Bridge towards the beginning of the movie-...

Where were the Brooklyn scenes filmed?

I've been watching the movie on a continuous loop for four days, now, and every time they're in the exterior of Brooklyn it looks a lot like New York. But after looking at the set photos, it seems the dig wasn't filmed in Brooklyn, although there are scenes of the exterior of the dig where you can s...

Wow, I completely forgot about this. Looking back on it, it's not a bad idea. I could probably shoot it and have Troma distribute it, if I wanted. Lloyd Kaufman owes me a favor after making that godawful "Tromeo & Juliet," anyway.

I wouldn't go that far... Oh, I would, this script is better than anything I could ever come up with, sure I'd change bits and pieces, but on the whole it's genius. I also sent an email to the Disney people requesting an extended Blu-Ray edition and they gave me a very kind-worded way of saying "No."

Well, not exactly, they just said they haven't put it on Blu-Ray yet, but that they'll forward the idea to the boys in marketing.

I just finished reading the 2/19/92 draft, and I have to say: This is, hands down, the definitive "Super Mario Bros" script! It's darkly humorous, bleak, violent, racy, sexy, vulgar, political and full of everything that would have made the movie the highest grossing (albeit the highest bu...

H.R. Giger's Influence on "Super Mario Bros."

I was looking through the pre-production artwork and I noticed that much of it is very similar (art-wise) to the work of H.R. Giger, the man who designed the Alien in the original 1979 "Alien," and worked as head artist on countless other films including Species, Killer Condom and Polterge...

Personally I liked the movie better, if for no other reason because it summed up in two and a half hours what the book said in twelve chapters. Also, I was glad they changed the antagonist's ridiculous plan in the book to a more practical plan in the movie...which is probably why Alan Moore is so ma...
