Re: Official 2/17/09 FAN-SCREENPLAY thread! (UPDATE! 7/22/09)

Authors' note... Whereas seven, count them, seven writers have 'failed' to write a screenplay based on Nintendo's Super Mario Bros, three of them credited in the final product that was released in 1993, four of them uncredited for (at least) two earlier drafts, I believe that my brother and I have f...

Re: You know you're obsessed with SMB...

Ha, if I had a penny for every odd thing I've done that makes my obsession with this movie evident, I'd be able to fix the economy, rebuild the Twin Towers and make a sequel to the movie, all in one day.

Alright, something of an update with my little fan-script. Lately, I've not gotten much writing done on this thing, due to being hired by Staples (The Office Supplies Superstore) in late March and being fired two weeks ago, due to matters of 'seniority' and 'economic-downsizing,' (thanks, Staples!) ...

This is from back when Danny DeVito was supposed to play Mario and at the time, personally, I think Nathan Lane would have been a good Luigi.

The best movie I saw in theaters recently was 'Watchmen,' but the best movie I watched in general lately was Akira Kurosawa's 'Ran.'

Re: Official 2/17/09 FAN-SCREENPLAY thread!

Koopa's 'real-life' counterpart is Scapelli.
Remember, it's just a rough draft, so I will incorporate the Thwomp Stompers, and other things.
Koopa is slowly de-evolving, but he decides to give himself a 'powerup' by downgrading to a much more aggressive form in order to take care of things himself.

Re: Official 2/17/09 FAN-SCREENPLAY thread!

Okay, here's my rough outline of the script! ---- "Super Mario Bros." At the beginning of time, the universe split into two seperate realities from a second, 'Smaller Big Bang.' Both universes are strikingly similar, the same planets and stars in the same places. However, in one universe, ...

Official FAN-SCREENPLAY thread! (COMPLETED)

Hey everybody, I'm currently reworking a fan-screenplay I've been writing based on Super Mario Bros., it incorporates the science-fiction elements seen in the movie that got made, along with some fantasy-based elements, as seen in the 91' draft of the screenplay. However my version of the script is ...

Re: The Official 7/17/91 Script Thread--Updated 1/21/09

I also think the ending in the original may have been too horrible for kids, since Koopa falls in lava, I know it's in the game but it's cartoony. If it were in a live action movie it'd be a terrible thing to see. Well, I'm sure they would have filmed it in a 'tasteful' manner, like in the third &q...

Re: The Official 7/17/91 Script Thread--Updated 1/21/09

Not bad at all. It really sounds like somthing directly out of a game. The only thing that really bothered me is the fact that they portrayed Mario as such a total jerk. I know he was was a bit like that in the final movie, but this was just way too much. I understand where you're coming from, but ...

MAJOR UPDATE! - 1/21/09

Hey everybody,

Just wanted to let everyone know, I might have the entire script
up today, as my brother just bought a scanner. So if I can get him
to let me use it, I'll just scan the screenplay and upload it directly!

It won't be for a few hours, but I'll see what I can do!

The script is a burning hypothetical, a shining example of future perfect...it's the best 'what if' movie question answered, black and white on paper, clear as crystal. What a great one-sentence summary. I think making your own personal re-write is an excellent idea. And speaking of that, I'll give...
