Re: Bob Hoskins has died - 30/04/2014

Yeah, I woke up this morning to my phone ringing and I answered it and it was my father and he told me Bob Hoskins had passed. Long silence... I'm really floored. I mean, we knew he'd fallen into ill health in the last few years, but I didn't realize he had pneumonia, that can be a tough thing to fi...

Re: Calling All Fans! An Ideal Extended Cut

Our major advantage over movies like It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World and the original 1973 The Wicker Man is, oddly enough, time. The amount of time that passed before they pieced back those movies is each over three decades, we've only been missing our footage for two-- a one decade difference doesn't...

You should get Shout! Factory's Max Headroom TV series boxset. Wow, I just watched some clips of the show, it looks pretty awesome. Max Headroom: The Super Mario Bros. Connection

I'd heard before that Rocky and Annabel created Max Headroom, and aside from the infamous Max Headroom Incident I really never took a look at the character until today. Re: Blu-Ray Re-Release Information/Petition

I know this may be a silly question at this point, but is this being put on a BD-25 or a BD-50? It'd be a shame for it to only be on a BD-25, as they'd have to compress the video and that's cause artifacts to appear and damage image quality. Be a shame for compression to undo all the hard work bein...

Yeah, we've had a scan of this blurb for a couple years now. Just never found the time or place for it on the site. The probably got the information from an early press release. That is interesting... I don't believe I know of any version beyond the Jennewein/Parker script that uses a different name than "Daisy" for the Princess (it was Hildegard/"Hildy" in the '91 draft, probably made for connotations with a similar fable about a princess). Then again, ...

We have spoken with editor Mark Goldblatt, as you might recall, and he seemed willing to re-edit the film if given the chance. What I mean is, we didn't make the initial 2.15 hour cut. If anyone were to re-insert those scenes it should be the job of the person who had to edit it himself. I was more referencing that '"New" Super Mario Bros.' cut made awhile back by another user, which I do not and cannot approve of...

In an ideal situation with all alternate and extended footage available I would say that we would cut about five minutes and re-add another five. Obviously, if there's some totally crazy backstory scenes or FX shots we would not hesitate to insert them if we could. Let's not delve into George Lucas...

Everyone seems to forget that much of the promotional materials for the original Donkey Kong showed Mario as a tall, muscular man and DK himself as a realistic gorilla. Because of this I don't think it's fair to interpret the character in just one way. Hoskins' Mario is just as valid an interpretat...

Now they're saying the new live action Ninja Turtles look like Goombas. I'm not sure I'd call them 'live action,' but if that's what counts as practical effects these days I guess I'll just film my next movie entirely in front of a green screen... Nothing ever made me 'think twice' about the movie-- I loved it from the start and am probably the only person in recorded history who still stands by the question: "Why can't the video-games be all gritty and cool with the cyberpunk stuff from that was in the movie?"

It's not just the audio, it's the video as well. For 10 bucks you get a DVD ISO to burn to disc, as well as a low, medium and high-rez MP4 and a file for 'classic' iPods that's also smaller as well as the option to stream the video. Five formats of the movie with the commentary for 10 dollars.
