Re: Official TROMA Films Thread!

I've thought of writing a screenplay based on Carlton Mellick's underground bizarro novel "Satan Burger" and submitting it to Troma-- but I'd probably need about 2.5 million dollars to bring a book of that stature to the screen. However, 2.5 million isn't that much in terms of filmmaking t...

Re: Ghostbusters III: Good or Bad Idea?

It's a terrible idea. "Ghostbusters" died when John Belushi died. The role Bill Murray played was written for John Belushi, one the greatest comedians of all time. And the original idea was much better when Belushi signed on to it-- they were going to have it set a hundred years in the fut...

They said the same thing when they made one of the "Nightmare on Elm Street" sequels back in the eighties when one of Freddy's gloves disappeared and showed up in a scene in Sam Raimi's "Evil Dead 2."

I'm glad they put "Doom" on there. Despite it's obvious flaws, it was groundbreaking for its use of the "first person shooter" sequence. And Karl Urban looks just like the Doomguy.

The "spirituality" thread that Serum made had me thinking about the Boos. Glad they left those guys out. I'm not creative enough to come up with a good way for them to have been interpreted. I did. In my version (which you can find under fan works), they were holograms that attack people.

Yeah, it was way ahead of its time. That's basically what every movie does these days-- look at "The Avengers" and "The Dark Knight Rises." The last forty five minutes of both of those movies are just constant stuff being thrown at you without any signs of slowing.

Eh...I only call it the definitive Mario script mostly because of what we found so far, to be honest, there are many things that need to be improved upon. The third act is a bit rushed, some game references come out of no where, and while there are many ideas in the script, most of them aren't expa...

True, but here's my arguement. For starters, going to the set where the film was made doesn't count as a fan work. A fan work is when someone makes a prop or a piece literature or a low budget film based around a certain property that's not theirs. Walking around a set that used for the film with a...

The movie is an incredible work of art-- the TV shows... eh. I'm not exactly sure what the intended demographic for those shows was. On the one hand, they were bright with lots of colors, but on the other hand, they featured poorly done covers of songs kids that age had never heard of.
