Re: Membership Drive Contest With Prizes

Is there anything significant on it or is it just a regular old poster for the movie? I'm just curious. No, nothing of any worldly significance, however, the fact that it came from Elle (the woman who owned the theater) means a lot to me. I saw my first movie there when I was five years old, and on...

The Spirituality of "Super Mario Bros."

Similar to my thread about the politics of Super Mario Bros., I wanted to talk about the spiritual messages in the movie, as well. From the opening scene, we're bombarded with science. Evolution and such, until we come to 1973 Brooklyn, when the Queen leaves Daisy on the steps of a Catholic church. ...

I went to a see "The Amazing Spider-Man," but I walked out on it about 20 minutes into the movie. First of all, it was "Twilight" with Spider-Man, second, when he gets his powers, he's in the basketball court at the high school and he's playing like a pro, which is really pissing...

Probably because in reference pictures to the original, 8-bit "Super Mario Bros." when Mario or Luigi don't have a "super mushroom" and are standing next to a Goomba sprite, they look small in comparison.
