Not to be a pessimist, but the odds of winning this were slim, anyway. The best we can really take from it is how many votes Mario got versus everything not Silent Hill, which should be pretty good, if it was the "most voted on" option.

I've long considered SMB The Movie to be the Sonic SatAM of Super Mario Bros., and I know I'm not the only one. In fact, it's that thinking which has helped me to enjoy the film even more over the years.
