Which scenes are you referring to? I assume you're talking at least about the scene with the three trolls. I thought it could've been a little shorter, but I really liked it. And I thought the "riddles in the dark" sequence with Gollum was great.

I just got back from seeing The Hobbit for the second time. On opening day, we saw it in vanilla 2D, and today we saw it in the new HFR 3D format. Around July or so, it was announced that instead of 2 films it would instead be 3. Christmas 2012, Christmas 2013, and Summer 2014.

That would be about every 10-15 minutes of Super Mario Galaxy 2. But it was a good kind of "mad."

As for the date question, my guess is it's because the film came out a little later in the UK, from what I remember. And maybe like some comic books, the month stated on the cover may be a few months ahead of when it was actually released.

We definitely are! Been reading just a little bit of the book each night getting ready for the film. It's funny just how much more entertaining it can be to read books out loud--it brings some of the characters and commentary to life. Hopefully the movie can do an even better job
