Re: Nintendo Wii U Discussion/Recommendations

Just opened it up, and I'm getting it set up now. It's pretty cool, asthetically speaking. Not too keen on the 4-hour firmware update though, but that's to be expected. Just holding the gamepad in my hands and beginning to use it has me really excited. I can't wait to see what Nintendo comes up with...

Re: Nintendo Wii U Discussion/Recommendations

I'll kick the thread off with my Wii U plans. I preordered the Deluxe set the day Nintendo announced it, and I should be picking it up later today. I originally had New Super Mario Bros. U and Zombie U on pre-order, but I'm going to hold off on those until Christmas. I think the included Nintendo La...

Nintendo Wii U Discussion/Recommendations

Since Nintendo's new console is out today, I figured I'd make another one of our popular "Discussion/Recommendations" forum for the Wii U.

Who got one? Who's getting one? What games are good? Here's the thread to discuss all that!

Re: Wreck-It Ralph

I saw the film on its opening weekend. I loved it! I understand some of the criticisms I've seen listed so far, but none of them bothered me in the slightest. I think it was a very smart move on the filmmakers' part to keep the story relatively small and focused. Just like the original Toy Story did...

I downloaded the new Art Academy game, the day it was released. But for some reason, I still haven't received my download code.

I emailed Nintendo about it and they said everything is good and I would get my code in the 3-4 week period. But it's now been over 5.

Re: Disney buys Lucasfilms...Star Wars Ep.7 on the way

What I'm curious about is if the storyline for episodes 7/8/9 will negate any of the world building done in the novels/comics/games/etc. in years past.

Did the SW prequels mess anything up, to anyone's knowledge?

I doubt we'd personally host an NYC screening again, unless someone got it together on our behalf. Wilmington, NC makes sense because I live close and it's where the movie was filmed. And Los Angeles makes sense because, well...it's LA, and that's where the most people who worked on the film live.

Re: Disney buys Lucasfilms...Star Wars Ep.7 on the way

I think this is a really cool thing to happen and Lucas has given the Star Wars franchise the best possible home for growth for decades to come. I'm very intrigued by the idea that we'll get a true-blue new SW trilogy of films starting in 2015. This whole plan must've been something Lucas had in min...

I got Resident Evil 6 the day it came out and I played through the entire campaign with co-op with one of my friends. I have to say, it was extremely fun (better than RE5 for sure). Overbearing I think is a really good word for it. It's just too cumbersome and technical for its own good. IMO, MP2 is definitely the best of the N64 games. MP1 is a good introduction, and MP2 improved and enhanced that formula. MP3 seemed to ignore the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" pr...

I know you're saying this in jest, but the general public doesn't know or care the significance of naming them "Segale." IMO, it's even more confusing to give the brothers that last name.

I think it's because this kind of fervor for what a character or "canon" is for a franchise builds up over the years. And when something just changes without reason, people start complaining about it.

Two words: continuity reboot. Miyamoto did say in the games current storyline so maybe this is a different reboot. That's my main issue with this. If the current games aren't supposed to have stories, and it's all about the gameplay...then why even bother with "rebooting" continuity like ...

The question is whether this was always his/their intention or a decision that came after. True but in the games Luigi was given little respect and the filmakers didn't make the games and as you can clearly see, their vision was different from Miyamoto's. Exactly. And that's something that I think has only become even clearer in recent years. With the first few games in Mario canon, ther...
