It's not like a game at all. It's more like a bad story that never ends.

Have you played it?

Re: Wreck-It Ralph

Plus, in that scene, it's a group of video game villains that are having an intervention-type of thing. Still, it would be a shame if that scene is the only one where we see "real" video game characters. If Nintendo let Disney use Bowser, Mario shouldn't be that far off, IMO. It'd be the e...

Re: Wreck-It Ralph

That's a pretty cool promo, really. I got to around level 10 or so before I paused it. Maybe I'll pick it back up later. It's a cool tie-in and I like that they're at least putting forth an effort into making the "world" of this film a reality.

Re: Wreck-It Ralph

They would ask. It would've been an interesting cameo opportunity, not to mention it would tie into celebrating video game-related nostalgia. Plus remember Hopper had been in at least one CG animated film before his death--he may have been open to a small bit in this one.

^Totally. Stuff like that is what will make this movie nostalgic for a lot of people. Just like you'd have obscure or antiquated characters in Roger Rabbit or some vintage toys in Toy Story 3. It wouldn't make sense for them to use "new" designs on a lot of these characters because it prob...

This film is looking fantastic. Hopefully it'll do what Roger Rabbit did for incorporating multiple generations of cartoon characters in one film, but only for videogame characters. There's a great opportunity here for this film to speak to the last 25 years of videogame culture. If you want to see ...

Yeah, you should come next time. IMAX or not, it's incredible seeing it theatrically with a crowd of people. Plus, I don't think it would look good on IMAX since it's not one of those enlarged IMAX prints.

Thanks for posting! I'm so glad that one of our forum members got to attend this event.

Got any more stories on how the night went? Talk to anyone else who was eager to see the film?

And...how was the film itself? How did it compare to seeing it on the big screen, compared to the DVD or VHS?

Re: Super Mario World Discussion

Exactly, I agree. Yoshi was the absolute WORST in SMS, from a gameplay standpoint. He was much, much better in Galaxy 2. Although he's a separate character, in games where Mario interacts with him I just view Yoshi as a higher form of a power-up. Look at him that way and it might make a little more ...

Re: Something I noticed about the DVD

In the world of Dinohattan, I'd say that Redstar is right--there probably are different sizes. However, in terms of the DVD/theatrical poster cover, I'd say that it was an artistic decision. I'd bet that they're at the same height because it maintains the line of sight at the same level for that por...

Yeah. The others are more abstract feeling. SMB feels like a legend. SMB2 feels like a tripped out dream. SMB3 is on the right track, but SMW did it the best of those 4.
