Re: Mario Party Series
Which Mario Party game was the last one you played? Did you like the series to begin with? Back up your arguments. And surprisingly, Nintendo did give the series a break--they had Wii Party instead (and it apparently did suck according to most reviews) so maybe they went back to the drawing board an...

I totally agree with the above comments. This MP9 looks like it has a level of polish on it that's close to the Galaxy games, even. And they're streamlining the board by having all four players together? Boss battles? Count me in.

Re: Pauline Discussion & Other "Shippings"
Redstar's right. The Mario games have never been about story, which is why the film is so great for coming up with what it did. I just don't get it when fans of the games say that the movie doesn't have the same story. Now Zelda, on the other hand--the story in that series is extremely important, wi...

Redstar's right. The only people from the fantasy production to carry over to the sci-fi version were Patrick Tatopolous and Chris Woods.

First of all, let's start with how the Bros. look. I hate to admitt it but I agree to degree on this. First of all, Mario and Luigi are icons, and they have an iconic look. Mario is short, has a moustache, and wears red and blue. Luigi is tall, wears a moustahce, and wears green and blue. By not gi...

Re: Video Game Adaptations 'Worse' Than SMB
It really is pretty cool. It's one moment in the film that's blatantly an homage to the games, kind of like how the Bob-Omb was used in SMB. The whole movie didn't need to be like that, but small, game-inspired moments that work within the context of the film go a long way.

Re: Video Game Adaptations 'Worse' Than SMB
Hands down, my second favorite game-to-film adaptation is Doom . While again, it's not as "faithful" to the franchise as some people would've liked, but as is the case with Super Mario Bros., does the story in the game matter that much in the translation for that particular franchise? No. ...

There are now 102 5-star reviews and 52 4-star reviews compared to only 31 1-star reviews. The film's rating has risen from 3.7 to 3.8 , which may not see...

I'm really digging this. A lot of these kinds of Mario "interpretations" I think are too "artsy" for art's sake, but what you've done here is really great. It's stylized just enough and it's not tasteless like a lot of the other stuff I've seen.

I find it quite odd that I actually have something to contribute to this thread.
Anyone seen Ridley Scott's Legend? It's very Zelda-esque, very surreal and unique. Once you get past the quirkiness of the film, it's quite good. Tim Curry (in a very Ganonesque role) completely steals the show.
