Re: The S.M.B.A. Thread
I always assumed that the Koopa Square street was either in between the towers, or right next to them. Remember, Koopa's apartment overlooks the street. Still, they called it his "apartment" so that means it may not be in the towers themselves, although many other doors/places connect into...

Yes. In Parker's ADR revision notes (or rewrites, I can't remember which) is a scene with Koopa and his "campaign advisor" taking place right before his introduction in the finished film.

I think the fact that Captain America--another period film directed by Johnston--is exactly the reason we're seeing The Rocketeer on Blu-Ray in December. How much do you want to bet that the blu-ray release dates for these two are extremely close?

^No, this isn't the shooting script. I don't think there actually *is* a shooting script--more on that in a sec. I think for a few scenes they shot live-action "plates" of NY landmarks like the bridge and then put them in the backgrounds of scenes like the dig site.

^Take a look at your DVD version of SMB then. It's non-anamorphic which means the picture quality isn't as good as it could and should be. Re: Movie Review 05: Super Mario Bros. (1993)
IMO, it's cooler that the film builds up to M/L getting their costumes. It's an origin story. For example--in Batman Begins, he doesn't get into his costume until about an hour into the film. About the uniforms--the colors match the original color scheme of the time. There was no "Peach"...
