Great article. I've always kind of seen the SMB movie as the close of the "Mario Mania" era. Like you said, all the games and media beyond that point revamped the character. Things like Yoshi's Island and having Martinet as the new voice took all of the "90s" out of the character...

I got the idea a couple of days ago to try to do something about making an "updated" trailer for our favorite film. This is what I came up with:

Also, this update was meant to be quite a bit larger, and would've launched another sub-section. However, I had some scanning problems and lost about 3-4 hours worth of work. So yeah.
