They pop up on eBay every once in a while (Half.com also seems to have them periodically). They're in lots of different formats across the world too--just keep looking and you'll find one eventually.

I think it looks great. And don't feel bad about the tracing--how else could you get a completely accurate Mario in that style? It's also really cool to see you rework Luigi in that style instead of keeping it a simple color swap.

Welcome!

Do try to find your coloring book; that'd be great to see. I also have a few of the coloring books and I do remember having colored in the first page that has a "stage 2" Koopa pointing at the reader with the Devo chamber in the background.

I thought it was also pretty funny that Hoskins had no mustache and Leguizamo did. And although we now know what a circa-'93 Leguizamo w/mustache would've looked like, I wouldn't have the film any other way. Having said that, I wonder if someone could take Leguizamo's head from the interview and fin...

You're totally right, Redstar--this is a really good article. The author hits the nail on the head when he says that the chief reason the SMB failed is because it didn't know what it wanted to be. I totally agree with this and have actually talked to people about this in interviews we've done (some ...

All I can say is, really ? How is this any more faithful than the actual movie? Simply naming the characters after those in the games and giving them poorly-inspired color-schemes does not make for an adaptation. There's nothing in this world that clearly connects it with Super Mario Bros. It's jus...

Those pages are stunning, Carl. It totally reminds me of the kind of comic art in the mid-90s and would make a great adaptation. I too liked the slight modification on the lizard-head Goomba and the "game graphic" points display. I could see some more exaggerations like this work in the re...

My assumption would be that one of the MEL guys did it. Didn't they also send some Goombas out to thinks like trade shows, etc.? Off the top of my head, wasn't Paul Elliot involved in some of that?

Hypothetical Sequel Songs/Soundtracks

Okay, go with this idea here: If the film had been successful enough to warrant a sequel, it would probably have been released in 1995 or 1996. What kinds of songs would've been used on the soundtrack? The original had songs like "Speed of Light" and "Walk the Dinosaur," and othe...

The novelization is a good read. It's similar to the film we got in terms of plot, but it's somewhat expanded and has a darker overall tone. Pretty impressive now that we know how many drafts of the screenplay that there were and how many rewrites took place. For a start, look at the page on Random ...

The real problem with this article is that it seems to have been written solely to bash the movie under the guise of a comparison piece. The suggestions for a "good" Mario movie would work for a cartoon, maybe, but not for a film. This is just another unqualified fan thinking they could h...
