I too have this compilation of Super Mario Adventures, from old issues of Nintendo Power. It really is an awesome, awesome take on the Super Mario universe. As far as graphic novels go, has anyone read anything with Lee Bermejo's artwork in it? I can definitely imagine him illustrating a gritty take...

Well, if you've seen some of the preproduction artwork on the site, that's exactly what they had planned. Probably didn't get that far because of budget reasons though. Cool stuff! I attempted to make my own SMB Movie game in the past too, using The Games Factory. I'll post the sprites I did one of these days, although they're HUGE and it was quite silly making them that big, lol.

Basically, yeah. There's the featurette, and then the film. Although every so often, a message will scroll across the screen saying stuff like "THIS IS A SCREENER VIDEO. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE PURCHASED. IF YOU PURCHASED THIS CALL BLAH BLAH BLAH JAIL BLAH ETC..."

Yeah. When I bid on mine, it was only listed like a normal copy of the SMB movie. I could make out the words "Demo Tape," and in the small, grainy picture, I made out...check out...special effects...featurette...WHAT!? So yeah, it's a nice find.

*surprise* I have this. The reason it's longer is because there's a special effects featurette before the film starts! Wahooo! It's actually really cool and has some...interesting footage not seen anywhere else. I've been meaning to get the thing converted so I can post it.

I think seven koopalings all at once is way too much, especially for an introductory/reboot film for a new franchise. The koopalings could take up an entire movie by themselves.

That would be hilarious, to have a scene with Hoskins and Leguizamo playing the SMB game, and talking about how the game was nothing like what happened. LOL
