Probably just so everyone could remember it was Toad and differentiate him and so he could play Somewhere My Love toward the end of the movie.

Welcome! Glad to have another fan aboard. I agree for every thing in the movie that missed the mark, the sheer imagination involved in transforming Mario's world was very cool to me. It's so nutty and off the wall, I still dunno how some people took it so seriously. Hope to see you around!

oh yeah definitely that sounds about right. Noticed that and thought about how awkward and unfun it must've been to have to lug real tools around at first, with all the running too. Probably didn't help how Hoskins felt working on the movie though luckily he get some lighter ones. Phlibbit, we surel...

Re: Props/Costumes Still In Existence...?
that's awesome! Reminds me of a possible accident in the movie, don't think it would really be intentional even though Luigi did end up losing his tools and is taught a lesson by Mario about tools. Seems more like one of those accidental moments. Right after Mario and Luigi escape the police station...

Re: Marioblaster's Devo Gun, Bob Ombs, and more...
It would be awesome if you could integrate lights and sounds, though surely that'd get costly and the movies had the luxury of adding sound effects in later. 8) Good luck, I await your progress. I saw that awesome pic of the clay stompers so likely you won't need much reference but if you do need so...

I guess you're right! I know some people are sensitive or whatever about stuff like that. Sadly I think people more took the movie too seriously or took the fact that it wasn't a literal translation of the games too seriously. It's sort of one of those you have to use your imagination!

I was wondering, do you guys think some people were turned off of the movie because of the whole evolution/monkey thing? That's really cool. Here's the passage from the SMB novel about the cafe scene. For anyone that doesn't have it. There are a few good pics, one in the book and a few of the trading cards show the Scapelli bros really well.. "Not Scapelli!" Luigi groaned. "We'd better get in there"...
