Re: Yoshi's Film/Game Portrayal
I think people just wanted to see Mario riding him and won't accept Yoshi as anything more than a mule. Hell, it would have been cool for Mario to ride a realistic T-rex in the movie... Think the original climactic fight against Koopa: Mario mounts the de-evolved Koopa and bull-rides him while Koop...

You have to have a LOT of jumping.
Start there, and the rest is easy.
Or, why not a ride on a runaway Bullet Bill train, with Luigi and Koopa fighting atop it (holograms or somesuch)?

Re: From Microchips to Moviestars--Making of SMB--BLOG THREA
Really, if you ask me , SMB's reputation is worse than its quality. Its heart is just about in the right place, and its brain is basically firing on all cylinders, but...there's still something off about it, as if the last few pieces of the jigsaw puzzle are missing. This blog-review is most fascina...

Well, this thread is just for sheer randomness. The more outlandish, the better.
Alternatively, "The Thing" somehow got into the Mushroom Kingdom and she was trying to Kill It With Fire.

The Return of Princess Daisy (wild mass guessing thread)
Just a random speculation thread. We all know that SMB was intended to be a franchise but this did not happen when the first one tanked. So, with that in mind, what kind of a madhouse do you think Princess Daisy was coming from at the end? My two cents: In Koopa's absence, Dr. Eggman was finally abl...

I just love how Super Mario has permeated through world culture so much that people even consider playing Mario theme music with classical instruments, and that the world respects that . :) Yeah, but he's taken it that one step further and is playing the music along with the game . That's the crazy...

Why would Koopa go through to the other side alone? I'm sure you're trying to be clever by referencing some obscure Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy thing or something, but in case you aren't, Dan Castellaneta (Homer Simpson) does that intro narration. I wonder, is there a way to make the Stomper cartridges a workable gaming mechanic? Something like, they give you an extra "boost" added to your normal jump, but you have to pick them up/buy them. The Fire Flower, I suspect, would be replaced by a wooden crate with a Flamethrower inside.
