He has a cape, so, yes.

But in all seriousness, Mario does fit some of the prerequisites of the superhero archetype, though I'm sure Phlibbit (being our resident comic expert) could make a more apt comparison.

I agree with Serum. Mario may have had various different personalities and hero-types in his myriad games, cartoons, comics and films, but each one has always required a "Luigi" character to complement and in some cases temper him. The two just work together. I think they're easily more su...

Let's start with the opening, a crudely drawn cartoon that explains the backstory. This is my biggest gripe with this entire movie and it is without question its lowest point, which is unfortunately because it's the first thing you see. Amazing work, MuppetMan! Very clever to use the Nunchuk as a control scheme. I hope that you can figure out the best method for controlling the Goomba as it'd be a shame if you had to give up on eye/eyebrow/jaw movement.

Pretty good, except that Ronnie Jay Leipold was the "Crazed Lunatic" (a character I believe cut from the film). The Devo Technician whose picture you've provided was portrayed by Jeffrey Pillars. His character was also known as "Wart" in the scripts and storyboards.

Parallels are certainly there, yes, but for the most part they're largely shallow similarities that can be traced to simple archetypes found within this particular genre.
