Yes, that was me! I'm glad you finally found the time to re-post the article; we really appreciate it. :) It'll also be good to get some further commentary from you. These early scripts are certainly fascinating looks into both the creative process of the film and the business of the industry. One h...

Site Overhaul Discussion

This has been a long time coming, but we're finally working on a layout overhaul for the site. While what we currently have is fine for the amount of traffic we were getting, it's now time to get out of 1999 and offer something much cleaner and more presentable for the unofficial "official"...

Re: Super Mario Bros.: Abridged!

I get that Dennis Hopper was great at playing villains, but he doesn't seem to know what he's doing. Then again, neither does anyone else. What they should've done for Koopa was get a different actor and make him a Godzilla-esque costume. Koopa was originally going to be played by Arnold Schwarzene...

Re: Super Mario Bros.: Abridged!

Despite its flaws, the movie really is a fun adventure with a unique take on the games. It's a lot more faithful than people give it credit for, but very few people can get past the visuals/atmosphere. If it doesn't have hills-with-eyes, it's not like the games, right?

I really appreciate you taking the time to re-post this review, Boba! Re: Super Mario Bros.: Abridged!

That was short, but perhaps the only somewhat enjoyable mockery/riff of the film I've yet to see. You did a really good job of condensing the film down to its component plot-beats, though I would have liked to see more of the Boom Boom Bar scene. That location/scene is a huge fan-favorite just becau...

So are you feeling more optimistic than Redstar, Phlibbit? Phlibbit and I both are very optimistic about a potential re-cut. But what are the chances they actually will re-release it with bonus features? I mean, I know the movie is still being sold in stores right now, but I think that's just because lots of Mario fans who have never heard of the movie just buy it as an impulse purchase. If that is truly the case, it see...

Re: BLU-RAY RE-RELEASE INFORMATION/PETITION

I don't want Blu-ray, as a matter of principle. The current idea in the media seems to be that we can't be happy until we have entirely recreated the movie theatre experience in our living rooms. Blu-ray is the first step in that direction, followed by 3D Blu-ray. I enjoy seeing movies in theatres ...
