Re: Greetings from Virginia!

I was huge into the Mario series as a kid, so when my mom found out there was a movie she let me know. She ended up recording one of the TV broadcasts onto VHS and drawing a cute Mario face onto the label. I still have it!

Thanks for posting this. I had hoped we could cover it to some extent. This and last year have seen so many national tragedies. It's hard to keep up. I just hope things can get better.

Great work, Carl. I'm loving the direction you're taking with this project. It's certainly the most original premise I've heard of thus far for a fan sequel. Keep it up. :)

Also, I see that you added spikes to your Shy Guy-characters. Glad to see that!

"The Star Wars" -- Upcoming Dark Horse Graphic Novel Series

Some you might have already heard that Dark Horse is working with writer Randy Stradley on an upcoming series that will adapt one of the early concepts for George Lucas' Star Wars films. Star Wars went through multiple vastly different iterations before becoming the version seen on-screen, of which ...

Critic Roger Ebert Passes Away at 70

Well, film critic Roger Ebert passed away today. Sadly, it was the very day after he had announced his retirement. Although he did not give Super Mario Bros. a good review he was still an insightful and intelligent man who always provided reviews of wit and humor. He will be missed. Complex has post...

Oh, okay. I'm glad to know you're not an incompetent speller! :P

It's a nice poster. Combines some of the best images to represent the film, although I'm more a fan of simplistic and minimalist pieces. The original poster will always be best to me because it didn't oversaturate itself.

Well the thing is, not everything will be resolved. When I said there will be a big bad every season I meant in the sense that there will be a huge threat every season. I never said they would be resolved. Defeating the villain and resolving everything aren't the same thing. That's even worse writi...

So, is Bowser still Daisy's father or a new character entirely? Also, stand-alone seasons traditionally don't work very well. People can't become emotionally invested when they know everything will be resolved within a handful of episodes, making way for a new threat. You're better off scripting a s...

My major concern with the original jumpsuits were how loose they were. They just sort of hung off Mario and Luigi, which I always felt detracted from the overall design.

This update is more form-fitting. I can actually take Mario seriously now, so I can only imagine Luigi will look even better. :)

Very exciting sneak peak, Carl. No two characters define the Super Mario Bros. 2 game more than Wart and the Shy Guy enemy, so featuring them prominently in any sequel production is an intelligent direction. An anniversary project would be very cool. Perhaps you could take the sequel hook and make a five or ten page short imagining of what happened? There's far too few speculation on the unproduced sequel from those with the talent to execute their ideas!

Finally saw the Avengers. Meant to do a review awhile ago, but it slipped my mind. I've seen the Italian cut and I'm actually not much of a fan of how abruptly it ends. There's no resolution to Luigi's and Daisy's characters. I...
