Re: Would the SMB games work with a serious tone?

I like his voice too. It's iconic, just like Mickey Mouse's. I don't really expect a lot of lines from Mario anyways. His extensive use of miming to get a point across, as he does in the RPGs, is a hilarious and fitting character trait. It's for that reason exactly, that he's so simple and iconic, t...

Ah. That's too bad. If you ever do come across some Donkey Kong sound effects I think they'd make a great addition to the video. Add some variety and real humor to the video. :P

So anything else planned?

Re: Assorted Merchandise Discussion

That poster is awesome! It's really cool that they decided to showcase that one scene, which you wouldn't immediately think of as being "iconic" of the movie, but was still translated into something very exciting. I also love how Koopa's stage 2 face is featured a lot in the merchandise. I...

Another great video, oldskool. People working off the movie itself seems to be rare among this community despite it being a movie that could easily be edited into something darker, more exciting, or just plain funny. Any reason you started as late as you did? I'm sure more sound effects could have b...

Re: Official SMB Game References in the SMB Film Thread

The flamethrowers could easily have been inspired by the Fire Flowers (or the ability to throw fire in the games in general) while only being named for the Fry Guys. After all, Daisy is Toadstool with Daisy's name and the Goombas are Goombas, Koopas, and more, but all labeled "Goomba."

Either that, or their programming is in some way connected to that real fun guy Koopa's got in his possession. I don't quite know how to explain it...I think Daisy might have gotten ahold of as many Bob-ombs as she could find and then secretly "fed" them to her father. He then imbued them...

I actually think it does. Because like you said the first movie was focused around dinosaurs as the bad guys, why not the sequel have mammals as the bad guys and more dinosuars as good guys besides toad, big bertha, yohsi and iggy and spike? I mean it would be perfect, kinda like a reverse setting....

I was in bed last night thinking about what kind of quirk the Chain Chomps should have to make them different from Batman's grapple-gun. I realized that the Chain Chomps themselves (i.e. what's being fired) should have a degree of sentience or A.I. The Bob-ombs are in some ways sentient, so why not...

Could they have pulled it off with special effects at the time? Certainly.
