Re: SMB-related dreams

That's actually a pretty cool dream. Enough details to work as an actual story, albeit an alternate take on what happens in the film. If you read the earlier scripts you can see a bit of dissent between the carnivores and herbivores as well as Koopa explicitly detailing herbivorism as what brings do...

Re: GTA "The Brothers Mario" Video

You see, it parodizes what many people thought the actual movie did which was to slap the names of mario characters on to anything and call it an adaption (Which we all know by now, is definetly not the case). They're also parodizing how hollywood makes videogames now-a days. Which is adding lots o...

Spanio's " Yah Gotta Buhlieve Mahrio " is colorful, cute, and Luigi doesn't have a mustache! I love how numanumaeh translated MEL's Goomba puppets into a drawing with her " Goomba " piece. Scales really work for it and bring a more reptilian flavor to the creature than we're used...

While it wasn't Toad coloring the childrens' book of dinosaurs in the movie (nor was the Goomba even an ape-head type), Teh-G-man's " Toad Likes to Colour " is a hilarious take on a classic character and cute moment of the film. Inkmonkey-Woodis has brought us another attempt at reconcilin...

EmperorNorton11's recreation of the iconic film poster with the traditional appearances of Mario and Luigi in his " Super Mario Bros. " piece is simply one of the best reconciliations of the two versions I've ever seen. The linework is clean, the coloring is stylish, and the characters the...

Hopper simply looks great in this piece. I like how the artist made his hair ridges actually somewhat resemble spiked ridges, which is exactly the look they were trying to evoke. The pronounced canines are also a great take, plus the Bob-omb "marching line" is thematically awesome.

GTA "The Brothers Mario" Video

Some of you may not have seen it yet but there's a Machinima-style trailer of a gangster-themed Super Mario Bros. movie that's become increasingly popular over the last couple of days. I find it interesting that other than Mortal Kombat none of the movies on the Reelz Channel count-down are blatantly "video game" movies. Most on the list were adapted from games that had a filmable premise that wouldn't immediately strike you as having video games as an origin. Most of th...

You know, that does seem like an incredibly obvious origin for his hairstyle. Considering Toad was "Lemmy" in the early shooting script it would explain why Mojo wasn't given a hairstyle with a more apparent allusion to Toad's mushroom cap. A 'fro? Ha. Somehow I don't think that would hav...

I notice you mentioned a Patrick Tatopoulos in there and I just had a brainwave: do you think whoever wrote the script for Godzilla 1998 named its protagonist, Nick Tatopoulos, after this man? It might not be too much of a stretch, especially if he worked on the movie. I think you're exactly right....

I think a trailer would be good farther along production. Just show some minor, "everyday occurrences" scenes and end with a great demonstration of the SFX we'll be seeing. Like, build up to whatever it is Mario and Luigi need de-vo guns for and only hint at what they're using it against w...
