Re: The Last Airbender
Depends on your tastes. I thought it was very good visually but other than that it wasn't very great, but I do have high standards for most films. For both of you I recommend watching the show. It should definitely demonstrate why the movie is not a good adaptation by any means.

Great work! There really should be an official album but apparently Silvestri has no interest. Shame too since it's a great soundtrack.

You know, that does seem like an incredibly obvious origin for his hairstyle. Considering Toad was "Lemmy" in the early shooting script it would explain why Mojo wasn't given a hairstyle with a more apparent allusion to Toad's mushroom cap.

SMB is almost a spiritual successor to Max Headroom. A lot of parallels can be drawn between the two. Hopefully we can make those similarities much more clear in the future.

Re: SMB: Mushroom Madness (a Fan Film)
We really do have high hopes for this film as it does constitute the very first fan film for the movie. I'm sure once all the SFX and editing is worked out through post-production the film will turn out to be a very high-quality spiritual successor to the movie. We'll certainly give our stamp-of-app...

Great commentary of the film, Kaiser. Are you either Black or White or are you just posting it? Either way, it's always fun to hear a respectful take of the movie even if it's not outright positive. All three of the reviewers hit the right notes, both the criticisms and the great parts. There were a...

Re: SMB: Mushroom Madness (a Fan Film)
This is great! The actors you've found for Mario and Luigi really fit into their parts. Mario's mustache does look a bit fake but I'm sure it'll work fine... I've got to know, though, what do they think of the film's concept? It's a spiritual sequel to a very infamous film, to say the least. Also, w...

It's looking great. I love the use of colors, especially in the Mushroom Kingdom. It's very offbeat and almost alien. It certainly does! That also got me thinking about the original Super Mario Land--didn't Mario shoot "bullets" in that one? Kind of. Mario shot "Super Balls", which were basically just large metal balls. Still, makes you think Yokoi was perhaps referencing this original concept ...

"Darker and edgier" sensibility not so farfetched?

Danny Wells-style, though whatever style your voice actor can emulate best should be fine as long as it feels right for "Luigi".

Still debating if Luigi should wear green and white, to follow the SMB color scheme. I was going to make him just a clone of Mario like the original designs and games, but I couldn't get myself to do that. I think green and white would be great. I've always liked the original color schemes as a qui...

I know that after Mike that interview might seem a bit redundant, but I'm quite sure Scott can offer a lot of information in areas we've yet to hear on or provide an entirely different perspective. Perhaps cutting-room material. If the shooting script by Solomon/Rowe is any indication to go on, the Portal-Keepers would have been mentioned in extended Koopa scenes either cut from the final film or through revisions done by Parker and Terry. The latter seems more likely as at that point they wan...

I meant the red shawl Lena is wearing is reminiscent of the similar costume Daisy's mother wears under the Goomba coat. I just noticed that Lena's red shawl is reminiscent of the one Daisy's mother wore in the beginning of the film. Not entirely the same, but similar enough it makes me think perhaps Lena was trying to get "in-character" for the role of a Portal-Keeper?

Re: Official 4/17/92 (sci-fi--Solomon/Rowe) Script Thread
One thing I'm really noticing in this script is the overabundant use of making sure that everyone knows that Mario's last name is "Mario." And in Mario's conversation with Daniella, it seems like Mario's middle name is also Mario! Not only that, but he's apparently the fourth Mario to be ...
