Re: The Last Airbender

Well that's surprising. I myself did find certain qualities to be enjoyable, but I don't think I could ever find the whole to be good. That said, it appears those who've never seen the source material (the cartoon series on Nick) are generally more forgiving of the movie's flaws. Have you seen the s...

Re: Differences among releases?

I have that region 2 release. Since all this new release stuff happened, I went back through my catalog to check on this stuff. Yes, it seems to be anamorphic, but I can't tell if there's any noticeable change in quality...perhaps they just "cut out" the black bars from the region 1 and t...

How about the Holland release? According to dvdcompare.net, the Holland release is both anamorphic and has 5.1 sound (the site also lists the American release as 5.1 which I thought was 2.0).

Re: Differences among releases?

So I've been posting on FanEdit.org for some time and talked about SMB several times before, but I figured I'd bring up this whole "new package, same shit" issue in the hopes of getting some help in contacting Disney. Of course, I brought up the anamorphic/aspect ratio issue and was surpri...

Re: NEW DVD RELEASE--STILL NON-ANAMORPHIC--YOU CAN HELP!

Someone on another forum pointed out to me that this redesign of the packaging is probably just a subtle tactic to boost sells as "title-on-top" usually sells better, which is something they only bothered with because they were replacing the original DVD release anyways with the "eco-...

Sooo...not much help on the BV front...initially at least. Come on guys, let them know that we need an ANAMORPHIC release of this film. I'm surprised at how courteous and informative their response was. I would have expected either no response or something more dismissive, so I see this as a good s...

I feel ashamed that I held a copy of the SMB movie in my hand that very well may have been this "new" release. It takes a devoted fan to notice such minuscule differences. I've been wanting to contact whoever is in charge of holding us back from a proper release so I'm glad you post...

Re: Mario Galaxy 2!

Well, to me, I don't see anything wrong with SMW. It's almost like a Galaxy/Galaxy 2 parallel. They both start off with an interesting new twists on gameplay, while staying completely "Mario." And the second installment just gets better, and they add Yoshi :D SMW has always been my favori...

I just love how Super Mario has permeated through world culture so much that people even consider playing Mario theme music with classical instruments, and that the world respects that. :)

The Last Airbender

The sheer amount of shots and scenes cut from the original film is enough to make SMB look complete in comparison. Seriously, over 30 minutes, if not more, was removed. And how did they fix it? They hastily added voice-over narration and montages. It does not work.

Re: Why Koopa was human instead of a lizard (my theory)

I probably really wouldn't want to see a live action Super Mario movie it was completely faithful to the games, unless it was sheer badassery . Even then I'd have trouble dealing with a Mario movie that treats itself seriously; majority of Mario games these days are very aware Mario is "outdate...

The work is simply astounding. It looks to be near the same quality as in the film, with the only flaw preventing it from perfection being the lack of motor movement... This could seriously be used as a costume in a fan film, or at the very least a skit.

I was genuinely surprised and saddened when I heard this. My first thought was his wonderful role as Koopa, then my mind shifted to everything else he had done, and finally my regrets he won't be able to do more. He had a lot more roles in him.

RIP, Dennis.

No one in their right mind should support the motion capture technique I dunno, the actors who sign on to do these motion-capture things seem to endorse it. It makes "hitting their marks" easier, or so I've heard. I think the technology's getting better, though, and the characters may not...
