Reiterating the same tired old talking points on the film. It's interesting, but lazy journalism to source articles and interviews published nearly a year ago. I wish someone would just Google the movie once and find our site.

'Mario' as Mario and Luigi's their shared surname simply makes sense, though I can understand why they would not that direction or choose any name at all.

The other choice that would make some sense and that I would enjoy is 'Segale,' the last name of the man that inspired Mario's first.

The question is whether this was always his/their intention or a decision that came after. I mean, I have no problem imagining the Koopalings as adopted generals, but to outright go against the text of the manuals and games is a bit much.
