Re: Redstar talks Super Mario Bros. on Sequelcast
It still continues to amaze me how popular the film is via podcasts, reviews and other events. Even our nationwide screenings have been far more successful than we ever thought possible. People are just curious even after all these years. You've now covered the film three times, but if you guys ever...

Even just seeing them on a much more open terrain really does a lot to make that scene so much more lively. So much of the film is just static locations, so opening up the climax would have done a lot. Reading your Tumblr I see that someone suggested doing the Big Bertha dance scene; I wholeheartedl...

Very nice! There's just something about the lines, scars and contours in Hopper's face that really makes him such a solid and alien character. He's absolutely perfect for the version of Koopa that they wanted to do.

It's cool to see that you actually do animate to some extent. I would be fully willing to commission an animated version of the movie, or even just an inspired short, if it wasn't such a demanding/time-consuming process.

The great thing about the movie is how visually appealing it is; it just inspires you with its sets, costumes and creatures. Some of the best fan art for any film that I've seen has come from this one, especially considering how poor its popular image is! I think seeing Koopa in your style would be ...

From what I've seen Waluigi is definitely a very popular character among artists specifically because of his awkward figure. It just makes him that much more fun to draw!

Re: Wreck-It Ralph
It would be very cool for Mario to have some role in the film, even as a brief cameo, but I imagine it took quite a bit of negotations on Disney's part to even secure Bowser from Nintendo. Besides, if he were in the film I'm sure that it would have been leaked by now. However, as I've noted previous...

Re: Differences from the fullscreen and widescreen versions?
I can't say if any of the differences or improvements from the theatrical print compared to the DVD release is really a matter of it being widescreen rather than full screen, though I can tell you that the picture quality was incomparable. It was much cleaner and detailed with the color really 'popp...

Wow, that is amazingly well done. I also have to agree with Phlibbit that a fully animated scene would be very cool to see. People h...

Looking forward to seeing anything else from the movie you might draw, either in your own style or something closer to the film's realism.

One thing that I didn't really get about MiB3 is the central conceit that K is somehow 'stern' and unable to find joy in life due to a personal tragedy. If you were to watch the original MiB it's plain that he's a very fun-loving guy and taking a lot of amusement in K's naivete and inexperience. Ser...
