I'm very happy about this! Super Mario Bros. 2 is my favorite of the original series, in large part due to its unique atmosphere and creatures. I think you can tap into a huge amount of nostalgia but utilizing the right enemies and locale. :)

My dealings with MEL have generally been positive and friendly, although concise. They are a business that does not usually involve private customers. It's just not their focus. I can't fault them with not putting everything forward on such a request. That being said, I would not pay that much for o...

I'm pretty excited about this! I wasn't expecting Rowling to return to the Wizarding world for anything major like a new book for a while. It's really intriguing that she herself is writing the screenplay for this new film--I can imagine that is one reason why she's down for this idea, because writ...

J.K. Rowling to Script New Harry Potter Film

Looks like the big industry news for today is that J.K. Rowling, writer of the immensely popular Harry Potter series, will be writing the screenplay for a planned spin-off film. This film will be based around her character Newt Scamander, the fictional writer of the in-universe textbook "Fantas...

I read about this yesterday and, to be honest, it didn't really speak to me. It's simply astonishing a studio can adapt a property when knowing just how particular Nintendo is about protecting said properties. The style just is not within the same visual tone of the games, nor do the characters real...

We've discussed this very subject a few times here on the forums, but it's always good to go over again. My argument has always been that Nintendo has turned Mario into a more iconic, archetypal figure in the same vein as Disney's Mickey Mouse. In a sense this has helped make him a more timeless cha...

Parker Bennett and Terry Runte's original script actually utilized such a plot twist, which would have been very fun. What they wrote saw Mario and Luigi scaling the tower and bursting into the top floor, only to find themselves in Koopa's propaganda department. They then went to the roof of the tow...
