Re: A list of my shirts I'm making

Hey, where's the Super Mario Bros. THE MOVIE T-shirts? Seriously, though, you're a really great artist. I love all these renditions and can see them working well on a shirt. The Mario design in particular has a really classic feel to it. I'm surprised I've never seen it before, but I would de...

Re: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

I used to watch the cartoon series, but never really followed it too much. However, my brothers and I were big on the live-action movies. They're just good even on a purely technical level as actual films . That really helps them hold up even now as something that you can revisit as an adult and sti...

Re: 1UP: Retronaut Movie Month Feature on Super Mario Bros.

Posted my own comments: An Undeniable Cult Presence Super Mario Bros. really does have an undeserved bad reputation. People look at it and either remember it fondly as kids' stuff or as some assault on their childhood. It's not wholly like the games, so people figure it has no merits on its own. How...

Say I was to go to America as a writer, would I need to be in the WGA? If you wanted to write for Hollywood-produced films you probably would. Miyamoto talks Mature Mario I love to read interviews like that. Miyamoto is just such a sweet-hearted guy that every time he speaks you can really feel his love and passion for anything he makes. The Mario games really do have a lot of dark and somewhat mature elements, so it really should come as...

Well, man, I can tell you that the game does seem to have strength in its backstory. Despite being foremost a racing game the characters and their motivations definitely sound like they could hold together an actual story outside of the games, so you fleshing them out seems like a logical process. Was not aware they were in a writer's strike during the first film, but I really don't understand this "obligated not to work" bollocks. If they chose to write than they probably would have been kicked out of the WGA. Unions have tricky politics in the U.S. Oftentimes they truly help the ...

I'm not familiar with the F-Zero series. I know there's some sort of backstory, but nothing beyond that. Care to explain?

Also, that drawing is ridiculous. I would love to see the creatures from SMB in that style, though it would be cool to see any character done that way, really. Top-notch work.

Star Trek 2009 certainly had its holes and weak moments, but it should be taken into consideration the the film went into production during the 2007-2008 writer's strike. Fan-Made Sequel to Super Mario 64

We all (should) know that a sequel to groundbreaking title Super Mario 64 was planned for the failed 64DD add-on console, but was canceled for a variety of reasons before elements would appear in Super Mario Sunshine, Pikmin and Super Mario Galaxy. For many, though, the original game stands as the d...

The closest screening to you that we have planned for this year would be in Wilmington, NC, but even that would be an 8-hour drive.

There really shouldn't be any difficulty in setting up screenings nationwide, but there simply has to be enough local demand to guarantee attendance.

You're right on the money, jka12002: Donkey Kong was developed by Miyamoto with direct inspiration from the Popeye cartoons. I think they're remakes. Anyways, they're still not cannon in the Mario Universe. Rewrites can be good and have been known to focus a project, but overall you need a strong vision of where you're going. Stick to that and make the story itself secondary.
