Re: SMB inspired Thwomper boots
Well i've made a mold of the thwomp for the bottom of the boot. Hopefully it turns out. I never used this RTV before and it was some really thick stuff. Of course i ran out halfway thru all my other projects. Great! I feel that the Thwomp logo is one of the coolest connections to the game in...

If the only reason the hammers can have a purpose is by violating any sense than you should probably have excluded them e...

Re: Review and thoughts on the movie video I made for YouTub
I grew up enjoying the movie the same way. I loved the games, so my mom recorded it on VHS for me before finally buying it. It's been a favorite ever since, though it's only the last few years that I've really gotten into it. While I do agree that associating the film with the game can only hurt ...

Thanks for re-posting this review, JTurner. You make a strong case for the film meriting a two-star rating, so it's one of the few reviews in that category that I've truly enjoyed reading. You offer a respectable opinion in an insightful fashion. Still, there's a few points I'd like to comment on. F...

De-evolution is basically just mutation, anyway. It reverts life to a "simpler form," not necessarily the original form from with it came from. Like the Goombas are mutants who have been genetically altered to act in a primitive way-- loyal, lethal and stupid. Evolution is "basically...

Sheesh everyone's so young on here. I'm 33 and saw SMB on VHS. Pretty soon i'll have to explain what VHS was  I LOVE old VHS movies. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't "Super Mario Bros." shortlisted for Oscars for best set-design and best make-up? It lost to the other dinosaur movie that came out that year-- which I refuse to say the name of. :| Super Mario Bros. was shortlisted for a special effects Oscar, but Disne...

Great props and costumes, mates. They may be bought, but they seem quality enough. As long as their utilized well I'm sure they'll be effective in the film. A rival is not a carbon copy. Fat Cat Franklin is more of an original character than a Mario character, now, what with the WarioWare series. He doesn't even really wear the purple and gold anymore. The problem with your theory is that, up until a few years ago, Mario and Luigi had no real ties to New York, Donkey Kong or anyone named "Pauline." The idea that Mario became a plumber in Mario Bros. and then stumbled into a strange new world with a pipe-motif in Super Mario Bros. is only...

I think Mario's been living (in the current games canon) in the Mushroom Kingdom so long he's completely forgotten about Brooklyn, Pauline and Donkey Kong. Cullen's take on Mario really is just fun. The Supercade feels right at home with late '60s-era cartoons like the Wacky Races. That makes it fitting that Mario and Pauline drive around in a "Mystery Machine," just as superwesleybros so aptly pointed out himself.

Not saying it's a bad thing; sometimes extreme measures are required to overcome social duress. V for Vendetta is a good example of that in fiction, though it's not always so morally palatable in real-life.
