The base and gaps will be painted black in photoshop/after effects. The fungus will then be masked and overlayed over the footage. Just match up the lighting and shadows in the original pictures and you're good to go.

Just about ready to start filming.

I always thought that Luigi's pouch was made of Nylon or something similar. Including rainbow colored belt. Hence the newer "themed" tools, belt Luigi has. And the older, "out dated, old leather" belt/tools mario had.

I just got done watching "My Name is Bruce" and there are a few Super Mario Bros cameos/easter eggs in the movie. Apperently Ted Rami plays a mario brother in the film. Or a nephew or something. His Luigi character is killed by the monster in the movie and is seen in the trailer I believe....
