Do you live within the New York area or will you be there on Saturday, December 17th? If so, we would love for you to join us at the People's Improv Theater for a FREE screening of Super Mario Bros.:

    * We hope that more screenings like this can happen in preparation for the film's 20th anniversary. Show your support simply by watching the movie and having a good time! Check out the PIT website or RSVP HERE for more details. We'd also like to thank the PIT's Oscar Montoya for informing us about the event.

As far as more site content, it's definitely coming. Stick with us!

wow, this really an awesome opportunity! Wish I could be there. I imagine that if we ever manage to get a director's cut of the movie we should have a screening of that. :D

We've gotten a lot of support for this event. Everyone seems to want a screening in their own state or town, so it's clearly an idea that interests a lot of people. It also only goes to show what I've been saying for awhile: the movie is always something that can be enjoyed with friends. If there's a group of people there with you it's always worth revisiting. :D

Well, I tried. But I was there in spirit!

NYC was very low-key. We didn't know anyone in attendance other than the person who filmed and guest Michael Criscuolo. Truly a shame that we couldn't be more involved, but our East Coast demographic isn't as strong.

I'll be in New York for a 20th anniversary screening, I guarantee it. I'm only an hour from Manhattan.

I doubt we'd personally host an NYC screening again, unless someone got it together on our behalf. Wilmington, NC makes sense because I live close and it's where the movie was filmed. And Los Angeles makes sense because, well...it's LA, and that's where the most people who worked on the film live.

How much would it cost to host an NYC or a Wilmington screening?

If we can book it through Landmark Theatres again it would potentially be free. Through anyone else it could cost $300 for the print in addition to $500 or so for the rental fee, although that really depends on the theater. If they're interested you might not have to pay either cost or just one.

Let me know when the time is approaching and I'll see what I can do.
