Our 20th anniversary screening of Super Mario Bros. at LA's Nuart Theatre was a success! Attendees enjoyed the prop displays and sequel comic teaser, as well as our Q&A panel. We'd like to give a BIG thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success, especially our Q&A panelists!

We'll have photo and video content of the event up soon, but until then, we can now exclusively bring you John Leguizamo's 20th Anniversary message:

John Leguizamo's Super Mario Bros. 20th Anniversary Message

Stay tuned for more updates! There's still a lot of content left to celebrate this anniversary!

I believe the Super Mario Bros. movie was actually the first live-action theatrical movie based on a video game, not the first movie ever based on a video game (see the anniversary video).

This is a great video. I'm glad that John isn't ashamed anymore to discuss the movie with the public. The story he told about Bob Hoskins and the sliding van door is also mentioned in his auto biography. It's great that he was able to make this video since he couldn't make the screening. I'm so glad he has a Luigi action figure! I hope he gets to sign mine sometime in the future. :D

Perhaps he might attend the NYC screening?

There's a Autobiography of John Leguizamo? Wow! I have to find it!

This was such a great video. I agree with you and I'm glad that John was kind enough to make this video for us. I hope to see more footage of the 20th Anniversary Screening really soon!

It was very gracious of John to put his time into this video. As fans it's more than we could have ever hoped for. It really makes him out to be a relatable, great guy. Hopefully we can work with him more in the future, perhaps even at the NYC screening!

Wow, this was great to see. I'm amazed we actually hooked him for a greeting like this. Also, when is the New York screening? I can't seem to find the date.

It's great to see that some of the actors and actresses who worked on he film are still engaged with it and can spread their memories from behind the scenes with us fans!

Anybody else think that he looks more like he could be Mario's brother now than he did 20 years ago? I think it's in the cheeks... compare his face to Bob Hoskins in '93. Am I wrong?
