And so my Journey Begins

Postby IbanezJFS » Sat Nov 24, 2012 1:06 pm

I have decided to start collecting the action figures. I just ordered my first one (Spike) but this is going to be a long perhaps expensive Journey. I'll be lucky if I can find the Cop car and the Devo chamber but if I cn at least collect all the action figures I will be happy. And So The Journey Begins. :D

Good luck, good sir! There are some listings on ebay right now for the action figures and the police car. Here is the link to the police car:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPER-MARIO-BRO ... 2c69f8041f

However, it's a little bit pricey and might be missing the box, but does come with 3 figures. Anyway, good luck on your collecting.

The action figures pop up on eBay fairly often. Just check under Toys & Hobbies, Entertainment Memorabilia and Collectibles fairly often and you'll see all that's currently available. Just don't jump on anything with too high a price. These toys aren't too rare, so if you just wait you'll definitely find them up again with a better deal. Good luck!

Hm, I don't the action figures are too hard to find but the other toys will definitely be harder to look for. Good luck!
Isn't this a little feminine?

Yes. I know. It was my ex wife's.

But you wear this stuff?!

Yeah on an occasion we have a date.

What's going to be hard is the Cop Car and the Devo Chamber. I know those are expensive. I am currently trying to sell a lot of linkin park swag hopping someone will buy it and ill have money towards more action figures.

Check my post at the top, there is one police car on ebay right now, but it's pretty overpriced. I just figured I'd let you know, though.

I know and thank you for it. But i'm gonna start small with the action figures first ill be lucky if I can find one of those cop cars for under $100. I mean as much as we love and appreciate this movie we all know that most of the world doesn't so I wouldn't think there would be a high demand for these toys.

I may attempt to collect at least the action figures. But it seems each time I look on amazon or Ebay, the one or two figures that I CAN'T find are the Mario Bros. themselves.

Ebay has Mario in package right now, type in Mario Bros movie, and click on toys on the side.

I wonder why nobody would buy Lincoln Park stuf?! How bizarre..........

But I am sure somebody will end buying them so you can get some figures.

Dude, most people hate the movie, whether that be justified or not. The key reason those prices are high isn't because it's such a successful movie, but actually because of the opposite. The more limited something is, the more it costs. While it may take a while to sell, you will eventually find someone willing to pay the higher dollar for standard items. Those people will be like you and me.

For example I'm after a Sega Wondermega MK I, an old Mega Drive that is so niche that you'll likely have never heard of it. But I collect SEGA Consoles, I love them. The Wondermega Mk I (When it appears) costs about $570, and that was just when I last checked. I can't afford that right now or the forseeable future. But if I ever had the expenditure available? I would pay that price. The high cost is set because they know hardcore fans of things like you and me will pay them, and so it doesn't matter if 99% of the world can't afford it nor know what it is.

Yeah I know but you would think that there would be some people who don't realize what they are selling like that 1 person who doesn't realize that they have a gem. I have gotten pretty lucky so far. I got Spike for $4.75 and Koopa for $2.99 I thought he would be the most expensive because it's Dennis Hopper but I should have realize that the Mario Bros. would cost the most.

I just won the Devo Chamber on Ebay. Granted it's missing the pipes and the stickers are pealing but it does come with the exclusive Goomba action figure. I may to make my own out of PVC Pipes just to at least make it look complete. I also won Iggy as well. I just need Mario, Luigi, the Goomba and the Cop Car.

Awesome, congrats! I saw that Devo Chamber on ebay. Glad that you won it. Another site that sometimes lists SMB toys for auction is www.invaluable.com. It's a high end auction website based in the U.K., but I managed to score a ton of SMB toys off of there sometime back in 2010 (including the Devo Chamber and police car). It's free to make an account. Not a bad place to look at if you don't mind paying more for shipping overseas.

Well I just made an account with the website you suggested. Lets hope what i'm looking for will show up. If im lucky and I get some good money from work I may get 2 of all the action figures. So I will have ones for display only and others that will go with the Devo Chamber.

This is a more complete set of the Devo Chamber, minus the goomba. Seller also says the box is included. This one is in much better condition than the last one you bought, if you're interested.

Still trying to collect the toys but I gotta say there is one toy I just don't understand why they made it...The Walkie Talkies. I mean we never see Mario or Luigi use them in the film so what's the point? The Devo Chamber the Cop Car I get in fact I think there was a working plunger with the logo of the movie stamped onto it but Walkie Talkies? Sure Koopa used one when his pizza arrived but it's such a small part that it seems unimportant.

Well i have SMB3 walkie talkies and I never see the bros using them in video games. It was just a way to make money off of merchandise.

Maybe Walkie Talkies were popular amungst young boys. I know I had fun playing with them when I was a kid. It was the early cell phone.

Pretty much. What didn't they make a walkie-talkie out of back in the day?

One thing I may do is buy the Super Scope and have an artist friend of mine repaint it to look like the devo gun.

I had taken a break from collecting for a while. I got a new job and making less money but I started watching The Game Chasers and saw how they can be just as broke as me but their still collecting inspired me to get back on my Journey to collect memorabilia of this great movie. I just bought a 3 Pack of the SMB Movie Pogs. I may sell one but I gotta get the rest of the action figures too. I need Mario and a Goomba.
