Substitute Action Figures

The Super Mario Bro's Movie was expected to be a summer blockbuster, so it seems odd to me that Ertl didn't make a bigger initial line of figures. The six they did offer just arn't enough. The brothers in particular look lonely against Koopa, his cousins and Goomba(s). So I went E-bay bargain hunting and came up with a couple good substitutes for some figures we're missing.
Daisy: I found a Jurassic Park Series 1 Ellie Sattler who fit the bill quite well. She's got knee lenght khakis and a pink top, not exactly movie accurate but close enough with maybe a hint of Princess Peach since she filled that roll. Her face is pretty close and her just above the shoulder leanght dark blonde/light brown hair is almost spot on. Be warned that the series 2 versions and some of the series 1 have yellow blonde hair more suited for Toadstool than Daisy. She has a JP badge on her leg that can easily be painted over or ignored and looks very much like the eager young archaeologist we meet early in the film.
Yoshi: Jurassic Park again, this time a Robert Muldoon action figure with a T-rex hatchling. Clearly it's the hatchling we're looking at here, you can de-evolve Muldoon into a monkey if you like. The hatchling is the right shape and coloration for Yoshi, maybe a little small but not so that it makes much difference. Place him at Mario's side, or slap a little chain around his neck and give him to Koopa.
Koopa Troopa: Ok, wasn't in the movie (I don't count the alligator Goombas, they were all just called Goombas in the film) but I like to think they exist in Dinohattan, just unseen at the time. Perhaps on patrol or aimlessly wandering left and right on a platform? In keeping with the more "realistic" tone set for the movie I selected Tokka the snapping turtle from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He's a little shorter than Mario, perfect for jumping on, and retains some of the classic Troopa look while still fitting into the feel of the Movie universe. Just remove his Foot Clan sash and he's ready to go. Plus he can still be a dinosaur if you assume he's evolved from an ankylosaurus. Get a couple and paint ones shell red! Bonus: Tokka also comes as a "Mutatin" figure, allowing you to de-evolve him!
That's what I've found so far. If anyone has any suggestions for a Big Bertha please let me know!
