I just finished uploading this! It's in 2 parts. Side 1 and 2! This is from the audio cassette of the movie that came with a 3D poster and glasses. It's definitely a fun listen and has mention of deleted scenes since it's based on the screenplay I imagine. It's rather silly and has a lot of bad music/voices as all read-along books of that age did

Wow, the voice-acting is atrocious, but it fills in a lot of holes in the movie...and is this narrated by the guy who voiced Space-Ghost?

yeah I really had to laugh at the voices. Sounds like one person tryin to do them all, almost. Dennis Hopper almost sounds like Jack Nicholson. The woman who does Lena almost sounds like voice actress Linda Gary.

No problem. I figured I'd look into trying it. It seemed like one of those things people need to hear. Listening to it makes the movie seem that much better.

this story casette looks like a cartoon, with this kind of music and the strage and crazy voice of Koopa

added part 2 and 3 lol funny how the adaptation jumps around and has various deleted bits...

thanks for uploading these. the bad voice acting and very fact this was made for children makes it a gem. Luigi sounds like something out of the Godfather to me...kinda makes his dialogue with Daisy that much creepier haha. I always enjoyed books with audio when I was a kid.


one thing I noticed...there's no sound effect to cue the kids when to turn the page

haha sadly there was no book, just a cool 3D poster of I think Mario and the Brooklyn girls on the mattress, I forget if Luigi was in it or not.

I did think of that though, the classic "When you hear this sound....turn the page" hopefully I'll upload another part tonight. Gotta take some screen caps

parts 4, 5, and 6 are done and take you up through the entire thing

Not sure if this was posted yet, but I have this poster in my room. It's wicked old and beat up though.

Yep, I bet my front teeth santa clause gave me that's the 3d poster we've been talking about. It looks a bit 3d and it displays (sort of) the pipe chase scene.

Ah nice. The only other thing I know about the poster is the Mario Bros. logo and the Goomba's face glow in the dark.

That poster is awesome! It's really cool that they decided to showcase that one scene, which you wouldn't immediately think of as being "iconic" of the movie, but was still translated into something very exciting.

I also love how Koopa's stage 2 face is featured a lot in the merchandise. It's creepy seeing his eyes staring down at Dinohattan and the Mario Bros., but that's why I love it.

Too bad the chances of getting a good, clean scan of that poster's art are probably between "slim" and "none." It looks awesome.

Just when you thought the search for obscure merchandise was over, take a look at what I just picked up off of eBay:



It's a promo pencil not for the movie, but specifically for this Audio Poster Pack.

That's awesome. The fact that it's shaped like a wrench is the one reason to really want it.

You're exactly right. Without that fun shape it would be an extremely mediocre piece not really worth picking up. But the fact that it's shaped like a wrench puts it right up there with the promo plunger.

What I great find! I saw this product in the Archive website, but didn't know you could listen to the actual tape until now! I'm going to give it a listen! I'm sure it's going to be cheesy but spectacular nonetheless!
