Custom SMB Figures

I have considered trying to make a custom Dinohattan cop figure, but I would need a good police action figure to use as the base model.

So far, I think this Robocop figure is the best choice, even though its a female character. She already has the police helmet. I think my biggest challenge would be how to do the spikes.

That would make a very good base for a cop figure! Very good find, billbot. I'm curious to see what you could do with it. :)

thanks! However what I'd really like to do is get a figure that has a long leather coat as a base for the police jacket, or a removable leather jacket from another figure that would fit on 4 1/2 inch figure.

Another option for a base figure would involve a Koopa figure, since he already had the double breasted jacket similar to the police uniform, and sports the silver metallic-like tie. As pictured here:

Only problem is that it isn't a long jacket that goes past the waist.

If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to comment since I have never really customized an action figure before, haha.

Another option is to use the leather jacket from this Angel 6 inch action figure. But the jacket might be way too long on a 4 1/2 inch figure.

Here is another potential figure for the Dinohattan cop. He's got the right kind of police helmet. I'll probably try and find him on ebay.

They're all great figures. I feel the RoboCop figure would be the best, but that's entirely up to you and what you're trying to accomplish with such a custom figure.

I don't know how far along you got with your custom figure seeing as how old this post is, but an old Mad Max figure from the Road Warrior may be a decent start for your Dinohatten Cop.

I know there's a John Belushi action figure for the "Blues Brothers" movie that might make a good Mario template.

That's a great figure! Unfortunately I've had to put this project on hold, since I don't have a lot of flow right now. But if I do pick it up again, I will consider this action figure as a template. Thanks!!

My custom dino kooper figure. Very easy to do. I just used the head of the goomba. Sawed the hands off and filed them down and glued them onto a koopa body. I think this is what the koopa figure should have looked like.

Also pictured is my UKG Goomba and my all time favourtie figure the devo chamber goomba varient figure. It took me a long time to find it.

Thanks for joining the forums and posting this! I love the idea of being able to make a "de-evolved" Koopa with those additional pieces.

I'd love to see more. Maybe you could make a "Business Suit Koopa" by combining your Koopa head with Iggy or Spike and making the outfit black. Maybe you could make a Toad figure as well!

The T. rex-form Koopa has long been a desired item from the film's collectors. It really is too bad that they didn't produce one for sale, although it's nice to know that we have fans such as yourself realizing the concept out of sheer fun.

Who knows... Maybe we can have ERTL make something semi-official? :)

Excellent work, Iggy. I'm a huge fan of action figures, especially of the custom variety. If at all possible I'd love to see you take Phlibbit's suggestions to heart and consider making additional custom figures. :P

This is awesome! I'd love to have that action figure if it were an officially licensed ERTL product.

Thanks all for the kind words I may do another one and do some repaints on other figures. This one took a matter if minutes to do so all you need is a spare goomba and koopa saw the hands off of each file them down glue them on and change over the heads. It looks really cool displayed with my other mario figures. I did do a moc up packaging for it as well. I will upload a pic soon.

There's one listed on Ebay. It's got a hefty price on it though.

Suggestions to customize Mario and Luigi as the sequel comic:
-Paint black finger-less gloves
-Re-paint the belts and add initialts
-Re-sculpt and paint the air stompers
