Goomba Patches up on ebay

Postby billbot85 » Sat Jul 02, 2011 10:55 am

Hey guys, I don't know if these are the actual goomba uniform patches from the movie set or just replicas, but take a look!

Even if they are fan made replicas, they look pretty authentic to me :D

Love that patch! A costume based around the concept of Koopa's army or loyalists with the patch situated over the arm would be a cool sort of fascist imagery. :)

yeah that's what I was thinking of buying it for! A potential goomba costume or other fascist military uniform for a potential Halloween project. Also, the seller informed me that these are in fact fan made replicas, not the real ones from the movie set.

Needless to say, they are awesome replicas, and I think worth buying. Now if they can do the police patches :D

I'd be glad to pitch in if you were to request a commission for said patches. I have reference images that can be used for extreme accuracy... Of course, this is only if you're serious about making replica costumes. :)

Well, I was thinking of trying to create 3 costumes:

Goomba (with animatronic head)
Police Officer (reason why I'd like them to make that patch)
Dinohattan citizen (with lizaard skin prosthetics)

The first one I'd like to try and make is a Dinohattan citizen. I would like to try and replicate the prosthetic make-up job done on Mark Jeffrey Miller's "Lizard Man" character, including the lizard-like contact lenses.

My goal is trying to make it as my next Halloween costume. :)

Very cool! I'm a huge fan of the dino-humans; Mark's "Lizard Man" in particular. Do you have the skills or contacts necessary to make such prosthetics? Perhaps I could put in word for you with Vincent Guastini (the special makeup effects artist) about creating some quick scale patches. :D

Well, I'd first like to try and see if I can get my hands on some foam latex or other similar material to make the lizard skin. If I can get a hold of that, then I'm gonna go ahead with the costume. Getting in touch with the make-up artist would definitely help me out. Thanks Redstar!
