Mushroom City?

When are we going to get a game set in Mushroom City? We drive through it several times in the Mario Kart games. I for one would love to explore it. After all, The Mushroom Kingdom can't be all open fields or ice lands. Perhaps they're afraid they'll legitamize Dinohattan...

How do you think a city based Mario game would play?

The closest we'll get to visiting the Mushroom Kingdom's capital city would be any future RPG titles. The original Paper Mario had a nice little Toad Town hub, which I would like to see revisited.

However, the recent Super Mario 3D World featured an urban setting in the final level with Bowser. The fight culminated with an ascent of a skyscraper. I have no doubt that this was inspired by Mario Kart's New Bowser City, which itself must have come from Dinohattan.

I don't think you can definitively say "Mario + City = Dinohattan" as far as inspiration goes. I mean, it could be, but... maybe they just wanted to have them on a skyscraper, or racing through a city?

Heck, some Mario Kart courses just feel like they were pulled from nowhere-- Coconut Mall, for instance, or Dino Dino Jungle, which just feels more like your stereotypical prehistoric jungle than anything inspired by the games or the movie, even with dinosaurs.

I said that I, personally, have no doubt. You're welcome to your own doubts.
