Amazing Spider-Man Producer Interested In Making A Super Mario Bros. Movie

I'm not sure whether this is a good idea or a terrible one, but it's worthy of a news update. Post your thoughts.

I'll bet Shia Labeouf stars as the animated voice of Luigi and Seth Rogen as Mario. Oh yeah, I said it. And now that the idea has escaped my psyche and is now unleashed onto the unsuspecting universe that awaits, It COULD happen.

Or MAYBE, Disney will pick it up and Demi Lavato will write another sub-par pop song so everyone will think the movie's a masterpiece. Nothing's impossible, improbable, unlikely but never impossible.

OR what if…Bowser/Koopa is actually an alien. Not from another dimension but another planet! Yeah, Mario Galaxy style. But with plot. This new movie could answer a lot of seriously burning questions. Such as, just who IS the King of the Mushroom Kingdom. I think its Pikachu.

Then again one must keep in mind. If the producer of the latest Spidey films DOES make this movie then it could indeed be made by Disney. Seeing as now Marvel after all, is the property of the happiest place on earth. THEN if thats the case, the TRUE king of the Mushroom Kingdom is really none other than, The Mouse HIMSELF.

But WAIT, what if it turns out that in this new movie the Mushroom Kingdom doesn't exist at all? And the whole thing was just one big spaghetti and lasagna induced dream. OR! At the very end after the Mario Bros have saved the day and the princess from evil it pans upwards towards the sky.

CUT TO, modern day in a hospital room. The blinds are drawn it is dark inside. Flowers and get-well cards line the counter tops and tables that populate his room. We see Seth Rogen…NO Shia Labeouf lying in a hospital bed, motionless. He got hit on the head in a bad plumbing accident…one too many times. He was in a coma the entire movie dreaming of a fantastical animated adventure!

It pans over again and we see Peach attentively sitting at his side, as played by Christina Hendricks (Why? cause reasons) she's whispering something into his ear, "lets a go Mario!, yeah hooo! Mama mia!, mama mia!." She repeats "mama mia" over and over again. Desperate now she breaks down and quietly sobs. Her head on his chest, she whispers one more gasping time, "mama mia!"

THEN! Shia/Mario springs awake, and he shouts at the top of his lungs "ITS A ME MARIO!"

Cut to black.

Credits.

I am actually completely down for this. I had no idea you posted the link here Serum. The only downfall I am worried about is that the Pac-man series that Arad made sucks. It sucks it sucks it sucks. But it does amazing with kids, so whatever it is they are doing it right. I guess I prefer the Hanna-Barbera Pac. But I believe they can do it, and I wouldn't doubt it in my mind that they would get Charles Martinet to voice Mario and Luigi still. Which I said in the past I am against the idea, but I do believe he can make it work.

I'd really like for Martinet to move away from Mario, he's turned the character into an over-the-top Mickey Mouse type who somehow remains silent. That was the thing I liked about Mario Sunshine was that there were cutscenes with dialogue, and listening to Martinet's voice as Mario and Luigi for an hour and a half might make my ears bleed.

I think Charlie Sheen should play Mario. Similar to his role in the classic film, All Dogs Go To Heaven 2. He could be the down on his luck sarcastic loser with a heart of gold. And at the end of the movie he learns the values of friendship and rainbows.

Ok Ok I get it, Charlie Sheen IS a bit to much. But then again he's a little to much for almost anyone. Me? Im hardcore baby. Feast your brains on this fart, what if its Jesse Eisenberg as Mario and James Franco as Luigi. Mario has to save the princess from Koopa as always BUT he's also trying to help Luigi in getting over his habit of asking teen age girls to "meet" him at seedy motels. You've got the usual save the princess for the kids, and the tragic hilarious real life antics of James Franco for the rest of us. Its a morality tale about coming of age.

Fine. Someone more hip then. Ellen DeGeneres.

She's sassy, and has that man-boyish charm a kin to the Mario's of old. Same story as before, we keep James Franco.

And THEN. Ellen/Mario saves the day and starts a talk show on NBC called "The Princess Was In Another Castle" where they talk about current events in the boring reality of life…UNTIL a barrage of Bullet Bills siege the city and he has to use rainbows and star power to send them back from whence they came! BUT! When that doesn't work it turns out that the only way to defeat the army of Bullet Bills is to sing them to death in the only way Mario knows how, a super party/singing competition!

Well, it looks like Serum beat me to the punch. Honestly, I kind of expected you to be a bit more...explosive about this news than you were man. :P

Honestly, I don't know how to feel about this. While I honestly would like to see a more faithful Mario movie which by the looks of this is where it's headed....I'm kind of hoping we'll see another loose adaption. Not to the extents of the one and only SMBMovie of course (there can be only ONE sci--fi/political/edgy/ Mario) but, I don't know, I just hope they aren't gonna be too restricted to the source material this time around.

Also judging by this article: http://wiiudaily.com/2014/12/sony-is-wo ... ign=buffer

I assume the deal's already made...

In the meantime, we should get to working on a nickname for the original mario movie, in order to distinguish itself.....I'll start with Mario '93, SMB1993, or Cyber Mario Brothers!
Isn't this a little feminine?

Yes. I know. It was my ex wife's.

But you wear this stuff?!

Yeah on an occasion we have a date.

Like I said in another post, I am 100% onto this to happen! The only thing that worries is me is the fact that Avi Arad made the new Pac-Man series. (like I also said I really enjoyed the 80's version of the Pac-man series rather than the new version) but I am totally ready for this to happen and I honestly hope it does. I want it to be Charles Martinet as the bros, and whole awesome new plot that involes them saving the princess. Y'know, I was going to make Mario 2 but let these guys do it, I'm done with it.

I know what this movie needs. Mark Hamill doing his Joker voice as Bowser. But at the end it turns out that Bowser is Mario's father…and his mother.

Mark Hamill would be good as the voice of Waluigi, because apparently everyone is so in love with that awful character maybe Luke Skywalker could make him likeable.

YES. Waluigi, as portrayed by Rossy O'Donnell. But then he chokes to death in a fruit pie/ham sandwich eating contest. Afterwords Wario reforms his evil/mostly just annoying ways, knowing now that Walugi was only a figment of his imagination Fight Club style. Wii U sales also improve.

BUT after the shocking news of Waluigi's death, it sends such shock waves through the fandom that legions of fanboys create a "Waluigi Lives" rumor. Later Nintendo releases an official statement. "He's dead and we're all the better for it" And he was never mentioned of ever again. Sony's new Mario movies goes on in cinema history as the greatest thing since toast.

To be completely honest though, if they do not chose Charles Martinet as Mario, I would actually like Seth Rogan's voice on Mario. It would be like 1989 all over again. I say this because his voice is jolly enough and could bring what Lou Albano gave to Mario back in the day. I honestly used to not care for Seth Rogen, but as I grew up I respect him for what he does as a writer, and comedian. But the ignorance that just happened with The Interview, it's hard to say if Seth Rogen will still work for Sony Pictures.

No, Seth Rogen has too much of a Western Pennsylvania accent to pull off Mario, I'd just hire Walker Boone, from the Adventures of Super Mario Brothers 3 show.

No Walker Boone too much like Hoskins. Needs to be a happy voice. Everyone should agree though that Charlie Day of Sunny should be Toad. His voice is scratchy loud obnoxious and yet enjoyable.

I would not mind hearing Walker Boone as Mario or any of the other voice actors for the animated TV programs about Mario in the roles they had for those programs.

I don't think Walker Boone and Bob Hoskins sounded alike at all except for their Brooklyn accent impersonations...

Bob played the part very seriously, whereas Boone had more license to be a cartoon character with it, and if any of these reports from North Korea are correct (which I doubt, I mean come on, they're from North Korea, I'm pretty sure their space program consists of Tesla coils and spindly rockets that go thirty feet in the air) and this new "Nintendo movie from Sony" is animated then they really shouldn't go with the over-the-top and more often than not difficult to understand Martinet.
