Why is it only use for the Sega Genesis? That doesn't make any sense AT ALL. Unless we are in Universe B.

That's the point. If he had made it a NES cart, that would be redundant because they already have an official SMB NES cart.

Besides, Genesis carts don't fit very well in NES or Super NES cartridge slots.

Makes me think of that terrible Super Mario World Genesis hack, though, this game would be much more awesome! 
It wouldn't be as good as the SNES Mario All-Stars version though, that's for sure!
