Mario Live Action Vid

Some footage that was supposed to go into my finished idea. The Koopas of course look ridiculous, this was moreso for fun. We're going to reshoot every clip with a koopa in it for the final cut.

I actually laughed at the end. The look on Mario's face when he did that was great.

The big problem is, obviously, the sound. It was almost impossible to understand anything throughout the video. Other than that my complaints are minor: I would have liked the mustaches to be more firmly attached to your upper lips rather than stringy on the sides and the beginning with Mario and Luigi in their home could go. It might have helped if I could hear anything but I really didn't know what was going on when they were in a house and someone (Toad? Wario?) kept calling.

Yeah, the audio was a huge problem. My camera's mic is garbage. We may actually just have to dub over the whole thing with a microphone.
But yeah, the opening was just an explanation of how they get to the mushroom kingdom from brooklyn. (Wario bought their house, their mother, and then kicked them out.) If I can get the crew together for a Level 2, these problems will be addressed.

A re-dub would be good, though a re-shoot wouldn't be too much work (other than getting the crew together again) as not much was going on. I just hope I can experience the first episode at some point the way it was intended.

My above complaint is more personal preference as I prefer the "born in the Mushroom Kingdom" continuity for the Mario Bros. For the most part whenever I see a "real world" presentation it just seems like two guys are sitting around in Mario suits. It only felt "right" when they were both out exploring.

Do you plan on having any of the more fantastical aspects of the Mario universe, such as enemies or items? How do you plan on representing those if you are going to have them in?

I do in fact plan on having the classic elements of the game world such as power-ups and enemies. Although they will all be represented satirically or in an otherwise comedic manner. I have a goomba prop and most of a koopa troopa. Bowser is going to have to be some really garbagey costume effect tho.

Hey, as long as the props look good and the jokes are funny go for it.
