Kinda like the movie, these cartoons also get picked on a bit. DVDs of it also have been popping up in more stores recently too, just like the movie. I think there was 4 series of Mario shows: Super Show, Mario Bros. 3, Mario World & Mario All-Stars (Compilation of the previous series)
So, what are your opinions on these oldie cartoons?

Sincerelly, I don't like them for an unknow reason
Millions of years of climbing up from the ooze, instantly reversed. Imagine the horror as it all slips away. It's worse than mere death. It's being undone

Re: Super Mario Bros. Cartoons
If I were to list the cartoons in order I like them it would be
Super Mario Bros 3 - This cartoon series, unlike the Super Show, actually had a good story every episode, and it wasn't just poorly written, it had the power ups that were needed, and it was just a really good series, I remember watching this series when it was on Saturday mornings, and I loved it the most.
SMBSS - The cartoon is awesome, it's classic, the opening theme song, the ending theme, the intro and outros with Captain Lou and Danny Wells as the Bros. If anything the live action segments is the best part of the show. THe cartoon itself, it's not that great. It has it's episodes but other than that, it just doesn't make any sense. They could have made a 64 episode story of the Bros. and Toad going through the Mushroom Kingdom to save Toadstool. Or they could have had better writing skills like the people who made the Valiant comics. Either way, the best part of this cartoon is it's nostalgic.
SMW - worst cartoon of the series, the drawings are terrible, Yoshi is downright annoying, the cave people are dumb, and Oogtar is possibly the worst character ever created. I'm not even gonna go on about how much I don't like this cartoon.
SMAS - Eh nothing great, I read that it showed SMBSS and SMB3 episodes, but I only remember this show playing SMB3 and SMW, never any SMBSS episodes
That's my thoughts on the entire SMB cartoon series.

Re: Super Mario Bros. Cartoons
I have to say that I like ALL of the cartoons, incuding the staurday supercade ones! Though I like The Super Show and Adventures of SMB 3 a bit more but for different.
Adventures of SMB I liked because there were actually a lot of more subtle but not adult jokes, it mostly depends on the timing or the way the characters speak or react to a certain way.
The Super Show I like more is because of the Overworld remix they use, the remixes they use in the show, and the Live action sements which arguably could be an entire show itself. In fact I'd PAY to see an entire TV show based around the Live Action Skits.

Isn't this a little feminine?
Yes. I know. It was my ex wife's.
But you wear this stuff?!
Yeah on an occasion we have a date.

Re: Super Mario Bros. Cartoons
Oh I love them - in fact the Super Show and then 3 were how I first heard of Super Mario (my parents wouldn't yet let me own any games systems other than our very old BBC Micro)! Same with the Legend of Zelda cartoon being how I first heard of Zelda, and Captain N: The Game Master being how I first heard of all games featured therein. These shows -and of course Super Mario World- are jolly good fun, and yes I used these shows as an excellent source for game tips when I finally did take up gaming (my parents were forced to abolish their decision against me owning more games systems, when some friends gave us their NES)
I don't use my video player anymore as I now have a DVD player, but just 22 days before Dennis Hopper died I picked up a video of the Super Show - I felt I ought to buy it as a well-wish for Dennis, hoping he doesn't suffer too much when the time comes 0:-)

Re: Super Mario Bros. Cartoons
I enjoyed all of the Super Mario TV series in spite of the cartoons having many errors in animation, coloring, and voice dubbing. Even though no living creature is perfect and some of the errors were as entertaining as the stories presented, more patience could have really helped the series when they were being produced.
I find the real-life segments of "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show" very interesting due to their guests, the format (a situation comedy), and Lou Albano and Danny Wells playing Mario and Luigi (respectively) in live action in addition to playing the same characters for the cartoon segments.
"Super Mario All-Stars" included only the cartoon segments from "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show" and "Super Mario World".
