A place for those who "Trust the Fungus"

I said in another thread that talk of a new film has got me thinking of doing a script of my own for Super Mario Bros. And I meant it. So I'm starting this thread to get dialogue going. I haven't started it yet but I'm working out ideas and plan to very soon. But I think this thread will be nice for me to throw out my ideas for comments and maybe get some of your own ideas and suggestions. After all, we're all the target audience here.

My first idea is the opening of the film. I was thinking of having it where their father is telling them a story one night as kids. Mario, an 11 year old, and Luigi, a 5 year old. It's the story of the Mushroom Kingdom and the attack by the Koopas. I was thinking about it and I've decided to add elements of lore throughout the games into one big blend. For instance, I plan on using the air ships as Koopa's main transportation throughout the worlds. Also, I think Koopa's home world is Dark Land? Am I mistaking that?

Um, wouldn't this be much better in the fan stuff thread of the Mario games section?

Well it was slow getting the info I needed...but today I am now 2 pages into my reboot for Super Mario Bros.

I believe the Koopas originate from a place called the Dark World, which is only ever explored once or twice in the entirety of the Mario games canon.

Alright, cool. Thanks for that. I wanted to make sure I was sure of that setting.
