Latest Noob

The name is IbanezJFS. And I actually never saw the movie when it came. I saw a few clips here and there but never sat down and watched the whole thing. But I saw it up on youtube and I decided to watch it.

But I went into it knowing it was different from the game. And...it wasnt that bad. The sets were great. I loved the actors. And the script wasn't bad. It was a different kind of Mario story and set. Like a more Modern one. And I just ordered a copy ;-)

Welcome to the boards, mate. I'm glad that you were able to watch the movie for the first time with an open mind. It may not be the most faithful adaptation, but it's certainly imaginative and fun. In the end, isn't that what really matters?

Feel free to post in any topic you like as long as you feel you have something to contribute. We always have several active topics to choose from. :)

Shigeru Miyamoto would disagree with you. I read an interview with him where he said that for him, it was 'too close' to the games... Either way, welcome to the board!

I know a sequel would be too much to ask. But maybe a blue ray with bonus features.

If you've looked around our forums a little you might have seen that we're behind a potential sequel comic, which is perhaps the best we'll get in that regard. Beyond that an updated re-release with bonus features is definitely in store.

Actually, even that is too hard for the folks at Dinsey!

Do you know how long we've been petitioning for a re-relase? Hell, ask Serum! He's the one resposnible for the big push for a Re-release.

Yeah, I'm ready to buy everyone on the site plane tickets to the Disney HQ and have a protest out front demanding an extended "ultimate edition" of the film and not go away until they give us what I want.

Disney owns the U.S. distribution rights to the film. It was made by an independent company called Light Motive.

Petitions rarely work, though we have been sending Buena Vista and Disney messages about the movie. The reason this had started in the first place was because in 2010 the film had a quiet re-release, however the reason we were mad was because not only did Disney or Buena Vista (I think) have the balls to make another bare bones non-anamporhic dvd, they basically made the EXACT SAME DVD THAT WAS MADE IN 2003! The ONLY thing they changed was the logo on the fudging cover!!! Same menus, same crappy transfer, no special features, just the exact same DVD with a different cover!

Now, we're makin a stand! We're sended emails to Disney, we bought more DVDs, even if it was the crappy re-release, we even started overwhelming review sites with more positive reviews! And you can help too if you just send a positive review to IMDB or Amazon! Spread the word if you want to be part of the cause!

oh and as far as being open minded goes...I'm a huge fan of independent cinema. And you learn compromise. And people these days are WAY TO NIT PICKY these days when it comes to movies. They need to learn that your brain has no limits. And they need to come back down to reality.

I just posted a good review on Amazon ;-)

That's great! Feel free to re-post it to our Amazon/IMDb Scores topic and to urge anyone else you might know with an account to share their opinion as well. :P

The thing that I'm seeing with a lot of films based on pop-culture icons is that everyone has their idea of how THEY want the film to adapt what they've come to know and love in their media of origin. Yes, mistakes can be made and bad films can happen, but letting those expectations form your opinions before you even see a film is bad from all angles.

And thanks for posting a good Amazon review :)
