No, it's not the Super Mario Bros. Super Show, it's a new member!
How are you guys? It's great to be here. I've been on the SMBMovie site, checking out all the great features and media, and figured I'd join your boards. I've been encouraged to join by Steve Applebaum, so I figured I would. I've been working on a 20th anniversary re-cut of Super Mario Bros. titled, New! Super Mario Bros. (very original, I know). Right now it's going through its final revision, but everything's just about finished. I'll be sure to post a thread exclusively about it, and maybe there'll be a future site update regarding the film. For now, I just wanna say "hey," and thank you all here for letting me roam around.

Thanks for joining the forums!
I'm interested in your recut--and the title is pretty amusing

What is your goal with this fan edit? Changing the tone or flow of the film?

Hey, welcome aboard! When do you suppose the new cut will be released?

Well, the title's nothing special, just a reuse of the DS title, since essentially it's the same film, just changed. The tone's pretty much the same, I just tried to convey that it is, after all, a movie based on Super Mario Bros. Therefore, after entering the parallel universe, you'll hear sound effects from the games interjected into scenes, since they're now in a more fantastical setting than the normal streets of Brooklyn.
When I get a thread up, I'll post the entire list of changes. The cut's pretty much done now, I'm just tying up a few loose ends. I'm not intending on releasing it anywhere except here, perhaps. I'm not 100% sure that it could stay up should I decide to put it on YouTube. But I'm also working on a possible subsequent DVD version, non-profit of course, made for friends and those interested. I'm currently working on a "making of" featurette for my version of the film.

Well you CAN make the video unlisted if you post it on youtube. You know, make it only available for those who have the link.

Steven, here. Glad to see you take up my offer to join the forums. It's always good to have new members, especially those contributing so much to the community. I was very interested in your fan-edit project, as it seems everyone else is as well. Hopefully we can see it and any other works of yours soon!

Haven't considered posting it on Fanedit.org?
