"Government of the People". The Stranger (thats me!) is a happy Republican and I wanted to think of something cute.

I was knocked off my socks to find out that Hopper was a Republican! I was not expecting that one by a long shot. Apparently, it wasn't only just in later years either.

One neat thing about watching the progression of Hopper's roles throughout the decades is that you get a guy who starts off as a hippie and then becomes the establishment. We can watch him go from hippy to biker, thug to cop, to politician, general, and then a king, etc. WEIRD

Any way, I loved him in the movie and I wish it could have been more enjoyable for him. The last favorite thing I watched him in was Choke, with Michael Madsen.

National socialist (fascist), for sure. Nationalism, racial purity, socialization of energy, etc.
