I remember the very first internet communities I got involved with as a kid were Mario Bros fan forums, and now ten or so years later here I am joining one again. Huge nostalgia rush from my childhood and from one of my favorite series! Glad to see that there are still active message boards to visit in an age where everyone is so quick to just use facebook or whatever. I came across this site after getting linked to the sequel comic, so basically my excitement for all things SMB Movie has been at an all time high this last week or so. I'm hoping to get to know the community here and become an active member!
As for me personally, I'm a pretty active gamer (with particular interest in Mario, F-Zero, Deus Ex, Devil May Cry, Mega Man, Castlevania, Metal Gear, and a ton of other things) and I also like watching movies in general.
I'm also taking community college courses for a degree in digital media. I'm also an amateur writer on the side, and in the next couple of years my first screenplay could be turning into a full fledged indie movie if my friends from campus are serious about taking out loans to fund it as a company endeavor.
I think the first time I ever saw the SMB movie was when I was five or so, and I caught it channel surfing right at the scene where the brothers are about to have their picture taken. I had no idea what it was and figured it was going to be a violent shooting scene, so I got scared and changed the channel, haha. It wasn't until seeing the film much later that I realized what was actually going on. To this day, I absolutely adore the Super Mario Bros film. It's goofy enough to enjoy ironically, but has enough merit and depth to enjoy it legitimately. The production value is also quite noticable, and the sets and props are fun to watch every time I see it. I guess being able to appreciate a movie from all aspects is something I picked up growing up with so-bad-they-are-amazing Nicolas Cage films. Either way, I should fit right in with a group of SMB The Movie fans!

Very exciting. There's a few potential filmmakers on our forums, although it's always nice to have another. May I ask what your first screenplay is about?

Re: Howdy!
Nice to see you! Glad you're enjoying the sequel comic so far. We're all happy to finally see a sequel.
Re: Howdy!
Good to have you. Hope you enjoy your stay and become involved in the community.

Thanks for the warm welcomes, everyone : )
Nice to know I'm in good company!
The story is about a boy who looses his astronaut father and ends up growing up with cripplingly low self esteem because of it. He starts the story depressed enough to really not want to exist at all. When he finds a mysterious package seemingly signed from his dad who had died in space, he gets wrapped up in a lot of secret conspiracy stuff with the government and ends up obtaining and learning to use his new super powers, which are pretty varied but could be summed up as camouflaging skin and the physical traits that could make an ideal Solid Snake or James Bond style super stealthy kind of character to the extent where people won't notice him unless they are staring right at him. Along his journey he finds friendship and a purpose, with the subtle irony being is that when he gets powers that help him not exist it ends up helping him find reasons -to- exist.
